Thank you for responding and so quickly. Just one other thing, should I now send letters to the customer services department, I think they are now dealing with it?

Hi I got a letter last week from Nat West saying bear with us. I think I am right to send the second letter tomorow as the 14 days are up.

Can any one tell me if this is right, also do I send it to my branch again or the customer services address on the letter that says they are dealing with it.

Yes, you can send the second letter and i would send it to the address on your reply letter and cc your branch. I have cc'd all my letters to a fro to my branch, that way you have at least twice as much chance of them dealing with it. Hope it helps.

    Good luck with your claim:o

  • does anyone know what number to call to make sure they are sending you the statements its been 4 weeks and heard nothing so far?

    Regards
  • Hi,

Just like Rich I have sent off the letter from the BBC website requesting the money in 14 days. As Rex has mentioned that I should leave a reasonable amount of time and send the letter again, should I attach the bank statements once again or not.
    Thanks

  • I just have a brief question that has probably already been answered somewhere on here, but I don't have the time to look for it right at the moment.

I'm currently in the court process, and my bank has acknowledged my claim. I know that once a bank acknowledges a claim they then have an another 14 day to enter a defence. However, do they have another 14 days from the day they acknowledge, or is an additional 14 days added on to the original 14 days that they had to respond?

Any info would be appreciated, as if it's the first option, then their 14 days is up tomorrow, and I can ask for a judgement. Otherwise I have to wait til next Wednesday and continue crossing my fingers.

    Thanks, people.

    Hi Silverstar,

They have an additional 14 days added on to the original 14 days they had to respond.

This happened to me too and the additional 14 days was up yesterday. However I tried entering the judgement by default yesterday but the moneyclaim site won't actually let you do it until the 14 days is up (it seems to work from midnight to midnight, not from the time you entered the claim).

    Good luck!
  • Thanks for the prompt reply. Guess I'll just have to bite my nails for another week, then!

I'm not really sure why this was moved to the Natwest thread, by the way, as it's not a Natwest specific question, but rather a general one that relates equally to all banks
