I have just received the same letter, saying that "given the work involved in assessing your claim, we aim to respond in 6-7 weeks". Is this a standard letter that they are issuing? Shall I now wait too?
Please keep us posted on how it goes.
Regards,
Simone.
This is definately the standard letter i waited but i did keep up with persistant but very polite phone calls to them atleast 2-3times a week just so they knew i wasnt gonna give up, but its up to you , i also couldnt afford the court fees so this is my reason for waiting plus it wasnt too stressful. But at the end of the day its your choice.
Good luck

My money finally arrived into my account today. Thought I'd post as I always found each report of another victory kept my spirits up regarding the day when finally I would get back what had been wrongly taken from me.
I waited for the 8 weeks rather than taking them to court. Sticking to the timescales regarding sending the first two letters. Before ringing up and being made a verbal offer at the point I was going to start court action. At the end I was ringing up regular to check the progress and the people dealing with this, whilst very nice and helpful, are snowed under, inconsistent in what they think they should/can tell you. Some will tell your offer before the letter reaches you others won't etc. Last time I rank up, I was told that my offer letter wouldn't reach me till after the 8 weeks was up and they couldn't give me an exact date it would be printed. It then arrived the next day dated 5 days previous.
Stick in there people, good luck to you all.
I'm off for a night out courtesy of Nat West.

what phone number did you call on?
0845 303 0456 gets you directly though to RBS department thats dealing with all the claims. People on the end of the line are friendly,(at least) sound clued up, seems that they're dealing exclusively with this matter, so it's direct to someone who can (at least try to) answer your questions (normally with a different answer to the one you had last time that is subject to contradiction in the near future) and I've found the queue and hold time is alot less and no automated system and department pass around to get though.0 -
I just rang them chasing again , and have been told that my offer was completed on the 5th June and should be with me this week !!!! We will wait and see.
Got home yesturday and a there was a letter from Natwest , oh the excitment , opened it up , "Your account got into arrears this month , we will be charging you £30". Ever so slightly dissappointed to say the least, but the strange thing is , io havent had a leeter telling me they will charge me for years so maybe my claim has been done ????Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Lucky you, getting a letter in all the years I've been with Natwest I've never recieved a single letter to say they've stuck another charge on my account. A certain irony in justifying charging me for letters they don't send.
Best of luck, dispite being told twice that they couldn't say when my offer letter would printed or arrive, I got it a week after the date my case was completed and dated from that day. So hopefully you're nearly there.0 -

Well lets cross our fingers !!! I need a holiday
What sort of amounts are people being offered or is it just luck ?
Knowing my luck they prolly gonna dispute it and make it go to court, I just waited the 6-7 weeks they said.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Well my 8 weeks is up tomorrow. Sent original claim letter on 18th April, 2nd letter on 8th May. Didn't deliberately leave it so long but just haven't had time to get to court to file (didn't want to do MCOL as exempt from fees).
Anyway, rang them today and have been told 3 offer letters on their way (1 for each account), and asking me to call back if I haven't received them by Friday!
Can anyone tell me if they've successfully requested the removal of a default notice on their credit file? I have asked for it to be removed, as the accounts only ever went overdrawn and subsequently defaulted because of their charges. And I didn't realise it at the time, but I was on means tested benefits and their charges should never have been deducted from that money in the first place!
Will let you know how I get on, but keeping fingers crossed.

Can anyone answer this:-
Is it Scots law that you can only claim back 6 years or
Is it because information only has to be held for 6 years?
If I can prove my charges (i.e. copies of statements) can I claim back further?
Also, asked for my charges 3 years ago and was refunded only part of the current charges. Surely Natwest are at fault for not dealing with my request in full then?
Any help would be much appreciated since I don't want to let Natwest off with anything.
Good luck folks!0 -
