  • Apologies if this is a silly question!

Depending on whether Natwest respond at the very last minute I should be putting in a judgement by default to the courts tomorrow. If it comes to this do Natwest have to pay the full amount that I asked for the MCOL?

I haven't received any form of an offer not even them acknowledging the fact I have made a claim against them.

hi, this is what natwest did to me, the day before i could issue a default judgement a defence dropped through the door. They said had not supplied enough evidence and wanted a response under part 18 or they would ask the court to throw it out. I was ready to give up until i saw a templete response letter on here to send them. Apparently its just scare tactics. I have now responded today and am awaiting the next stage. If they do issue you a defence, don't give up, find the templete letter on here about cpr part 18 (would tell you where it is but am not sure myself now). keep fighting, like you i hvae had no response from natwest at all until the defence dropped through the door.
  • I followed the guidleines given and requested six years of statement from Natwest. They have only sent me the first two years worth. Has anyone else had this experience? Are they doing this on purpose? Any advice on how to get the rest.

If you haven't received all the information you require within 40 days of them receiving your Subject Access Request, report the matter to the Information Commissioner. However, his staff are as inundated with complaints as the banks’ and credit card companies’ are with SAR’s.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

ChrisF...I originally requested 3 different account statements from Natwest, complete with £10 fee, back in Mid April....two weeks later...1 account statements appeared. NOTHING ELSE....left it 40days.....so I have decided to write again, this time by registered post. Strangely enough, did the same with Halifax, and they sent me a nice letter saying that it could take 40days from my original request...which was now 65 days ago....
    Suggest you check the following:
    1) Correct address....
    2) Write again, referring to your previous correspondance -send it by recorded delivery as proof.

    Can anyone advise me?
I made my claim 2 months ago and will get a reply by 22nd june as to whether they pay me or not?
In this period i have been charged £90 twice and another to come £28 unarranged borrowing fee twice and another to come and 3 times £35 guarantee card payment.
If they refuse to make me an offer to my 1st list of charges of £2500 can i then add these charges to my next letter and request these too? i only have charges back 5 years so it wouldnt cancel any out either???

Natwest send the statements out in batches its more than likely you will receive the rest in the due time, if not phone them and ask them.

First time I have posted so hope I'm doing this right.

I have sent off claim to Natwest for about £7k. They have given me a claim number but even though I asked for a reply within 14 days they said they won't reply until 40 days. In light of everything that has happened with Lloyds TSB - is it still worth pursuing?
  • Right at the last minute on the 14th day of the claim being served to Natwest they have acknowledged it. I honestly thought i would be putting in a judgement by default tomorrow as I haven't heard one word from them during this process, yet they jump up for this.

It is normal for them to take the 8 weeks from date of first letter. They are inundated so some deadlines are missed and could end up in court therefore continue with timescales as outlined by Martin.

Good luck...my claim started as 7k and settled at 5.5k since they wouldn't pay the interest.
