    Hi
I have been helping my 3 sons to get their bank charges back. To date I have done really well thanks to Martin Lewis. I have followed his instructions exactly.

Lloyds TSB paid back £750 after using Money Claim Online.
MBNA paid back £1655 again using Money Claim Online.
Would add that they both paid up before the 14 days.
Barclaycard paid £210 after I wrote requesting that amount, only 1 letter sent.
Halifax. Claiming £913, they are the only one at present to have issued an acknowledgment.

Have got 2 going with Barclays, 1 for £2000 and 1 for £1600. Will let you all know the outcome of these.
Good Luck to everyone claiming these charges and remember don't give up!

....what address does the second letter go to?
Local branch, head office or the same as the first one?

    Cheers
Send letters to both recorded delivery. Also send an email to Michael.ducan@rbs.co.uk he is in the Group Chief Executive's Office. He won't reply but your email will hit home. Try calling them on 020 8236 8183 and/or 0845 3030 456. They were not nasty to me and it may help to explain you'd rather settle out of court. They will agree to refund all the correct charges but not the interest. They will be doing their best to settle out of court to avoid the interest. There's no guarantee any of this will speed things up for you but it won't do any harm either. They will try to settle within 8 weeks of first letter.

If it hurts the Natwest ... I'll help!

Have received a letter from Corbetts with a defence from the Natwest stating my claim is invalid etc etc.
It states on the letter i have 2 weeks to respond. Can someone tell me what i do now?
Will my solicitor sort this out for me as im assuming it will be transfered to a small claims court near me. I am concerned as the deadline is up beginning of next week and i have not heard anything from moneyclaim.
    Thanks:confused:

It depends on what the solicitor is asking for? Please read the Reclaim Help Thread where you'll find links to threads one of which is "letter from bank/solicitor"

Well after a long hard stressful battle with Natwest i have finally got my offer letter! :j Its ONLY TAKEN 11 WEEKS!!!

After many stressful phonecalls and emails and waiting around and a complaint to the FO i received my offer letter sat 2nd June (i was told it had been posted on the 24th May!! and its dated the 24th May) but after ringing on friday I was told that some offer letters have not been posted as orignally thought and it was down to a mistake by them. As you can imagine i wasnt very impressed with this after repeatedly being told different things everytime i spoke to someone!

They have even added in my extra charges i emailed across to them (good job really as i would have fought for them too after all the messing around ive had!) and for some reason i have an extra £100! :j That will do nicely to pay for the extra stress, postage and phone calls! haha

All in all i have received just over a thousand pound and want to say any people who are disheartened, fed up or feel like giving in DONT keep fighting just like i did and you will get there in the end.

Thanks to everyone who has given me their support on this site, thanks to Martin & especially Jonun and TimewillTell who have put up with my moaning and encouraged me to keep going i hope you have good news soon too!

All I can say now is woooohhhooooooo :T

Credit Card charges next! :rotfl: Jen x

He must have been getting to much hassle...shame...not!!!!

I have a letter dated 31/5/7 confirming he got my email and it is from Karen Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager. Ground Floor, Natwest House, 225 Shenley Road, Borehamwood, Herts. WD6 1TE. Tele: 020 8236 8183.

I feel very strongly that even getting back our charges is not enough. I can't swear on here but I am mega angry that the 'banks' are still getting off Scot Free! They 'borrowed' our money without asking and are only giving us back 6 years without a penalty charge. Yes, I know, it's great that we are getting money back but why are we stopping there. These thieves work for us. Why are we being complacent. Every day I read posts from very angry bankers but we are still letting them off with it. They must be laughing up their sleeves! I don't have the brain power to set up a 'Challenge Group' but I'd certainly join it to stop this happening again and being offset to other areas. Oh, and Martin, you'd get my vote if you were to challenge Gordon Brown.
