Received my letter from Natwest after generating my MCOL claim issue (they had ignored all previous correspondence) - they have offered me £20 :rotfl: as a good will gesture. This doesn't even cover the cost of generating my claim through MCOL.
I feel I have no option than to follow this through to it's conclusion and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Also does anyone have a template available (or know where I can find one) to gracefully declining this not-so-tempting offer ?
Thanks in advance0 -
I still claim the record for the lowest monetary offer at £8 (one £20 late payment charge reduced to the OFT figure of £12), but I suppose any overall record should be worked out as a percentage.
I believe there is a thread on offer refusals, to which your post will soon be magically transported. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
£8 - Thats impressive ! - will check out the thread0

Just wondering what to do next.
I have been doing this since August and was offered £2.5k on Friday as a "goodwill gesture".
Do I need to write back and reject this or should I just enter my claim with the court without any more chances?
Thanks to all on here and MEGA thanks to Martin, I'm sure we all know who I mean;-) Just a thought but I'd put some of my refund to a statue of M right outside Natwest head office!!0 -
I was claiming £6900 plus interest. Sent first letter, then second a fortnight later. Rec'd offer exactly 8 weeks from 1st letter and rejected amount. Today, they returned my call requesting a 'chat'. They will not pay interest if dealt with out of court and they will do the six years exactly. They will go thru' your claim with a fine tooth comb and deduct all the charges that do not relate to overdraft/bounced cheques etc, even if they are part of one charge on your account i.e. advanced gold £12 per month. I have been given a revised offer of £5500 and have to accept it following advice from others here. Hope this helps.

I have decided to accept my first offer of £5900 . I am waiting for a court date which could be months off. Although this is under my total claim it is a lot more than I had or expected a few months ago It will go a long way to sorting my finances out . I am not stopping my claim until money in the bank Then I will post on success thread.
Many thanks to all the support and advice here and to others keep at it0 -
PS. I rang and for the first time got through at 9.0am
Woman staff ,very polite but firm this was the only offer and non negotiable at this stage . Either accept or gotoCourt - my choice
I do not beleive anything they say as going off this site they all say and approach it differently
But I did decide to accept0 -

Hi, I am new to forum - in fact first ever forum experience -
In April sent initial first letter to Natwest to reclaim partners bank charges (following template letters on this site) no response. Then sent chaser by recorded delivery threatening to issue but still have no response. Do you think worth initial call to Natwest to see if they are going to respond or just proceed to issue (bit struck for cash so did not want to incur outlay of issue fee if possible) - claim is for £4625 plus interest of 923.05 total £5548.05.
Has anyone had any dealings with natwest and if so do they have handy telephone number OR has anyone got any other comments or ideas?
Thanks for reading!0 -
You'll find lots of help in this thread on how to proceed with NatWest.0

Am I happy? That will be right!!
Facts: Money for many years has been stolen from my account.
Interest has been charged on the lack of money in my account.
The theives are well known and guilty.
All they have to do is put it back if taken in the last 6 years.
No punishment. No Compensation. No Charges.
Well Hey!! Honour among theives and all that Jazz....the government ought to be ashamed of the way they have avoided this issue and allowed this corporate theft to go on unpunished.0
