Hi, i am new to this chat so forgive me if ive done it wrong lol. I have been trying to claim my charges back from natwest and had no response at all. I sent them a letter threatening them with court action in 14 days which will be up on saturday and still ive had no response. Can sum1 give me the address to write to as i dont know wether i have done right by sending letters to bank im with and is there anywere i can phone and see whats goin on?
    thanks julie x

I got the best response when I stopped phoning and started badgering the staff of my local branch, if you go in they'll be able to look at your account and see whether Borehamwood who are dealing with the bank charges have received your letters. If they have then they'll also get on the phone and chase it up for you. Unfortunatly they don't have a direct line, they have to phone the same number as us mere mortals so be prepared to wait.

hi jonun, i know i said i wouldn,t but i did. i phoned cru today.
snotty woman said straightaway, when did i receive acknowdgement letter, i said you never sent one, she said well i am sure you have been told 8 weeks, and i you can't keep phoning....very snotty women, i told her that it was my right to phone when i wanted to, she said : well i can't tell you anything over the phone.. i said : oh thats strange, everybody else i have spoken to has and whats the difference with you, she said.. wait for letter of offer, i said thats if i ever receive one and thank you for being so polite and helpful as when i complain to fo that is more i can add, and put the phone down.
nothing mentioned about not being able to use the template of charges.
    sorry for babbling
    hi,
She sounds like a nice person..anybody would think it comes from her own pocket!!hahaahah..
Did you read my post y'day? FO have written to natwest already..
so im thinking positive thoughts now!!
I too rang CRU this morning 9am on the dot and i got straight through to STUART HIGLEY..quite helpful, i was on the fone to him for 20 minutes..told him everything.. i questioned about friday when i got told that garbage about the statements , he asked who i spoke to, went away and come back and said , he didint mean it , was a mistake!! more like i rumbled him telling porkies trying to stall my claim!
anyway, in the end was told that an offer would be made within 56 days..
times ticking for us now timewilltell...just about 2 weeks left isnt there?
Oh nearly forgot..last sunday 13th may i emailed CRU telling them how appalled i was with the service etc...got a reply to that today, just saying my email had been passed to the relevent dept!!

  • We rang natwest today and were told that an offer of £2700 was on its way to us by post:j . We had asked for £3900 with interest, without interest it was £2900 so we are going to take it:beer: .
    Many thanks to martin:D

I really dont know what to do about this whats the general consensus?
If i refuse the sum (which as martin states is £4000 more than i thought i would get) is there any possibility of me losing altogether?
I would think as they have offered me a substantial sum that they obviously feel that is cheaper than going to court

Any thoughts on what to do would be welcome as the board has helped me a lot so far

Sorry for re quoting this again its just that it has either been overlooked or no one has any input

I am at my wits end trying to make a decision as the letter was sent before i did my MCOL claim (basicly on the last possible day of my original second letter
So it seems they waited until the 14 days of my second letter ran out before replying and wouldn't have seen the extra money i was claiming for or the added mcol fee

I tried to call the number on the letter only to be on hold for over 15 mins i had to go out so i don't know what they have to say about the charges applied over the last two months

please let me know what you would do in this position to help me make up my mind i am fairly certain to accept their offer at the moment

secondly how do i stop the mcol process
Received £4541 reclaimed from Natwest :j:T

Hiya. There are no guarantees in this process, firstly. In a similar situation to yourself, I rejected their good will offer as by the time their offer letter arrived, the 14 days was up and I'd filed a MCOL claim. I too rang them and they said they were not going to increase the amount offered ie no interest, no court fee. I took the decision to reject it and go ahead with MCOL and now I'm tussling with the banks solicitors and who knows, may end up going to Court. It is stressful !!! Only you can decide whether to accept the offer or not, I'm afraid.

MCOL - if you check the FAQ on the website, it explains how to stop the claim. You could ring the MCOL helpline if you prefer.

    good luck

Hi all. Just wanted some opinions on this.......

Claiming £2307.21 from Natwest. Received a letter with offer today of £1550. In two minds what to do. Half of me saying great, take the money. Half saying go for the full amount. Don't want to fail through being a bit greedy. Anyone got any experience on this?
