I sent first letter to Natwest recorded delivery and they logged receipt 26 March. The second was sent recorded exactly two weeks later. I called them once to establish progress and was told they would reply in 8 weeks. Today, bang on the deadline, I received the first bit of correspondence offering just under £5000 (my claim is for £7600 incl. interest). I called them to say I was not accepting and had already sent letters taking further action (which I did at 9am today). They said 'OK, so you are taking it to the small claims court?'. I simply replied 'Yes, something like that' and that was it!!!
I am proceeding via FO but have option to go thru' English court since my hubby lives in London. Can someone explain why I can't go for compensation....today alone has made me ill, let alone the financial restraints that have ruined my life for years? Also, eighteen months ago it became apparent to me that my branch has no disabled access for wheelchairs. I never needed this facility before. I have complained no end about this only to be told they don't own the building so it is not something they can fix. They have offered to come out to the car to do business!!!!! How insulting! The next nearest branch involves a 120 mile round trip!! Do they really want the publicity I am storing up for them?

    Its customer.relations@natwest.com

You'll be lucky if you get a quick response though and apparently they have told people on this thread they dont reply to emails but some people including myself eventually got a response by email - would you believe it! :rotfl:

Does anyone know how long it takes from recieving a offer (and returning the letter signed) to actually getting the money into your account??

    Please.

    Really need to know.

You gave them 14 days, so give them 14 days.

If you want to deal with this via the Financial Ombudsman then wait the statutory 8 weeks. If you want to take the court route then give them the 14 days.

If you are going to put time limits in your letters then you need to follow them.

so you think that i should write them a letter now stating i am taking them to court unless i receive a settlement offer or at least a letter of acknowledgement, and give them a certain time limit and stick to it? do they say 8 weeks as its the limit and they just wanna drag it out as long as possible? also i have had another £200 worth of charges since the list i have requested, can i now ask for them back on top of the original or only the original list???

After filing a claim with MCON, I finally received a letter from NatWest indicating that "as an act of good will", they will refund my charges. (Looks like they've deliberately waited until I filed the claim to send me the offer.) If I cancel the claim, will I receive my £30 fee back? What do I do?

    I'd really appreciate your help.
    Thank you

We got our charges included in the ammount the paid to us(it was £80 more than we claimed exactly) Hope that helps you and good luck.
