Pam, all letters with regards to claims are sent to Customer Relations Unit. If the letters are received in Branch they are sent on to them and it has been like this since december 2006. No delay just correct process followed.0

I've sent the first template letter off requesting the charges to be refunded, but its been way over the 14 day response and i havn't heard anything. What should i do now ring them ,write to them or wait??????????????? please help.0

Am SO happy. :j Just got a letter from Nat West.Ofering all our charges in full.(£994.57). Stunned. There has been no communication whatsoever from the bank. We got the statments back no trouble and sent the first letter recorded. Nothing not a word. DH got really angry as we have bent over backwards to avoid incurring charges(in fact we discovered that one DD fe had been charged twice on the same day!) Issued procedings online. This was three weeks ago, Again nothing. Resigned to going to court, then this morning recorded delivery letter complete with cheque enclosd. We couldn't or crtainly wouldn't have done this without your help, advice and support.:T For that i want to say thank you so much.
Dear Nat west this is your left hand I would, like to introduce you to your right hand......................................As you know got a letter complete with cheque(both banked and cleared now) Anyway, yesterday got another letter with 3 booklets-terms and conditions;a quick guide to fees and customer complaints-making things better:rotfl: and a letter "we do not feel our charges blah blah you know the contents I am sure by now:eek: Anyway they, whilst not admitting that they have done anything, wrong are prepared to offer as a gesture of good will £622:T :rotfl:  Like I said Mr Nat west(left hand) please meet Mr Nat West(right hand) AND WE TRUST THESE LOT WITH OUR MONEY:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Words fail.........Wonder if I should reply in crayon ????????????????????????Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

I have been sending all my correspondance to my local bank to claim my money back from them , but I`m sure I seen on this forum that all letters and correspondance has to go to Nat West head office branch in London , is this right ?,as I have not received any letters from them ,and I am now in the prosses of taking them to court.0

It doesn't matter where you send them, they all end up in the same place.
It's not wrong to send the initial letters to your local branch, but it can help in the end if you use the head office address for all communications once legal proceedings has started.
Having said that, once you start you will find you'll have to talk to the solicitors anyway, but there are advantages to using local branches then switching later to head office.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
mrmole I've sent all my letters to the branch associated with my sort code and had no response from them. Until receiving their "goodwill" gesture after starting legal proceeding.
In case you want to chase it up the letter came from: -
Stuart Higley
Customer Relations
Ground Floor
National Westminster House
225 Shenley Road
Borehamwood
WD6 1TE
0845 3030 456, or 0113 549 8741.
But don't worry. Like Kurt_Hamster has said all your letters will end up in the same place so just carry on like the article says.

I was asked this in my branch the other day. I said "not yet" and the guy removed 2 charges there and then! As if that's going to stop me claiming the rest back! In the same visit to the bank I overheard someone enquiring about claiming charges and was VERY suprised to hear the assitant say that if the customer brings a cheque for £10 they'll print the letter, get said person to sign it in branch and the bank send it off and take care of most of the "nitty gritties"!!! Almost sounds like they're inviting people to claim charges (or the bin is marked outbox:claim letters) lol0
