Thanks to all of the help and advice on this site I have just sent off my 1st letters to Nat West claiming back my bank charges, obviously am hoping all goes smoothly, (although nothing in my life goes the easy route!!!).
My query is about credit card charges. Over the last 6 years I had 8 credit cards all getting the normal charges!!! I have paid off most of them but am now left with 2 - pretty good job eh, for a single parent with 2 kids!!
HOW CAN I CLAIM BACK THE CHARGES ON MY "ALL PAID" ACCOUNTS WHICH ARE NOW CLOSED???
and How do I get all of the details of the charges from the 2 I still owe money too? so that I can reclaim them??
Thanks
Hello margesimpson
I definitely think you've posted on the wrong thread here. This is concentrating on NatWest current accounts etc. You'd get much more advice on one of the credit card threads, so I'd refer you back to the forums home page and take a look from there.
Don't forget you can also use the "search' facility on each page (it's got a little white triangle next to it).0 -

Don't worry, it's nothing weird, and won't have you stripping off and robbing the local shop! It's just very calming and helpful. If you've got headphones, and can burn it onto a CD or load onto an MP3 player or something, I find that just lying down for 20 minutes with it is excellent for de-stressing.

LOL. that has made me chuckle, was feeling really deflated today from all of this, thanks for that,0 -

It's a user calling themselves WiseInvestor, who seems to take delight in making patronising comments to people who are obviously in distress, something which, to put it mildly, I find extremely unhelpful. He's also against people claiming back their charges -- he say that banks have every right to charge what they do.
I fail to understand why someone like that would come onto a site which is explicity aimed at helping consumers stand up for their rights and proving that banks have been scamming us for all these years. He's obviously a 'troll', someone who just likes to see their own posts on a site and who gets his kicks out of winding people up.
Really sorry to hear that you've had no progress. If you're worried about the expense of MCOL, I'm wondering whether it might be a good idea to talk to your local county court, or even the Citizens Advice Bureau, explain the situation and see if your local court will accept a staged or deferred payment or something.
But the problem is, as my own case shows, even if you go to MCOL or any other court, there's no guarantee that your case will actually get a quick result, and it could certainly be a good month or more before you get any progress.
Unfortunately, I know it's nice to be able to 'splurge' a bit when on holiday, but under the circumstances, like most of us here I suspect, you're going to have to focus on it just being a break, and plan for next year's holiday to be something more exciting.
If you need something to help keep you calm and focused, I find Paul McKenna's relaxation stuff really helpful, and good for self-esteem too. You'll probably have seen him on the telly helping people to break weird habits and phobias, and he did that very successful weight loss thing too. Go to Paul Mckenna training here and on the left hand side of the page you'll see a button for "FREE trance download".

Hi Henry
Thanks for that - Just feeling abit down at the moment with everything just got to the stage this week where i feel like nothing goes right for me - i suppose we all have those days dont we. i can sympathise with everyone on here who's waiting still too.
Oh i read something on the Lloyds Tsb thread where this person has posted - Yeah very unhelpful and not a nice person it seems. Why bother to post if you have nothing helpful or encouraging to say. This world is full of strange people! I'm just glad the nice good people of this world outweigh the bad ones on this site.
So many people have offered really good advice and support yourself included - its these people who keep you going. :T
I have just made a formal complaint to customer relations manager and will be passing it on the FO with my earlier complaint. Even if they get told off for their conduct its something and hopefully will stop it happening in the future to more people.
Good luck with yours and i'll keep you updated with any progress (not holding my breath though!) With regards to my nat west claims for charges. The only money i have ever had going into my accounts is from benefits, yet the bank always seems to charge me charges!! They are not allowed to do this are they?? Even though I have got direct debits to pay??0 -
smudgemanc26, keep your chin up, you will get there. enjoy your holiday, take time to de stress and come back and treat yourself to all that money you WILL have, then you will be ready for your next claim.
we all get mad, depressed, angry and fed up, but we will be on the success thread soon,0 -
