On a lighter note i also received a letter from Fo today saying that they had received my complaint and would get back to me with a more detailed response within 14 days!!
jox
hi jonun, did you post your complaint or e mail your complaint to fo, i presume you still have not heard anything from fastwest.:rolleyes:0 -
hi jonun, me again, was just thinking if they have only just got round to dealing with complaints from the end of april then how come they have not got round to dealing with CLAIMS from beginning april, if they spent less time giving b*#~***t on the phone, and writing to cobbetts they would be able to deal with claims quicker and have less complaints. its the lies, and no response that are annoying me, i expected to wait due to the high demand, buti its taking the mickey now.
hope you hear someting soon0 -

I'm afraid that's pretty typical of the banks. At a later date in the reclaiming process they will probably claim to have sent out acknowledgements which of course you will never see.
Best to send any correspondance to the bank by registered/signed-for delivery.
Pam
does this mean i have to wait until i receive an acknowledgement or should i go to MCOL tomorrow as its then that their second 14 days runs outReceived £4541 reclaimed from Natwest :j:T0 -
If anyone is trying to get an answer out of Natwest or Just to speak to someone who might actually be able to give you an answer then try the details below. I received a phone call from the person below after many attempts to speak to someone of a reasonable level of authority. She was very helpful, understanding and prompt and returned calls when she said she would.
I am posting this information for the benefit of others and although I can understand peoples negative impressions of other Natwest or RBS staff, this person has however been very helpful so try and restrain yourselves...:)

I mentioned in an earlier post that I had received a derisory offer from NatWest last week, and I was wondering whether anyone might find it helpful to see the reply I sent back to them, which is based on one of the templates you can find elsewhere here on this site.
In this case it's addressed to a chap called Stuart Higley who had signed the letter sent to me, but you must of course ensure that your own version is addressed appropriately.Stuart Higley

Re: account xxxxxxxx, sort code xx-xx-xx (HMCS claim number xxxxxxxx) and account xxxxxxxx, sort code xx-xx-xx (HMCS claim number xxxxxxxx)
Thank you for your letter dated 8th May 2007, in which you make an offer of £1,920,00 to be paid into my account. I regret, however, that your offer is not acceptable.
Following my letters of 14th March, and then subsequently on 2nd April, I did not receive any response from NatWest at all, and therefore proceeded as warned to undertake action through the courts for the recovery of £3,895.00 plus interest, totalling £4874.51, relating to my account xxxxxxxx, and £1,215.00 plus interest, totalling £1,757.98, relating to my account xxxxxxxx. These amounts had been explained and detailed to you in my letters.
Once again, I am enclosing a full schedule of the disputed charges and the interest allowed by the courts.
I must remind you that these claims have been accepted as valid by Northampton County Court via HMCS MoneyClaim Online and that you have acknowledged these cases via your solicitors. Moreover, I intend to proceed with my claims for the full amounts together with interest up to the date of judgement and court fees in the proceedings through the County Court.
My claims are based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these default charges are unfair and not proportionate to your costs, and therefore Northampton County Court will rule in my favour. In addition, your charges have caused considerable financial difficulties and stress to someone who has been a loyal customer for many years.
Therefore, should you wish to prevent these claims being dealt with by the Court, with the inevitable additional costs this will entail for NatWest, then I recommend that you revise your offer to the full amounts claimed without delay, as the Court’s deadline is due to expire on 22nd May.
Yours sincerely.....
Good luck with your own negotiations, all of you, and don't be frightened by the fact that one single customer of Lloyds TSB, out of all the thousands of claimants, has failed in his complaint. We weren't there, we couldn't hear the conversation he had with the judge, everything is just hearsay and I imagine that, in any case, he has the right to appeal. Keep calm and stay the course.
Oh, and I've lodged an official complaint about the smart-*rse who has been making personal attacks on the thread about that news. None of us here want to hear patronising lectures from smug, self-congratulatory dweebs, do we?
I'll continue to keep you posted on progress.0 -
hi everyone,
Am i right in thinking that banks arnet allowed to take charges from benefit money paid into an account?
Its just that somebody said that to me today and i have had alot of charges taken out of tax credit payments also just recently was injured and had to claim incapacity Benefit for a while as i couldnt work and a lot of charges were taken out of that payment..
sorry for going on.
Thanks

Hi Matt - now that your claim is in the Court system, Nawest MUST reply by the 20th. If they don't, then you can apply for a judgement by default. Take no notice of them having said verbally that they'll reply to you by 25th May with a 'full and final offer' (which in any event is less than you're claiming) - especially as that was said to you over the phone. They seem to tell a different story each time you phone, which is why I never bothered after one phone conversation.
They are no longer in any position to dictate terms to you !!
Good luck,
Pam
Mmm.....
May 25th seems a common denominator.
Told that on May 25th I should receive a letter agreeing settlement..
Told today May 25th I will have resolution to my complaint (inter-twined with recharges but not my actual complaint)
Call me suspicious but is there another test case coming on the heels of TSB?
In an effort to keep upbeat, had an amazing few conversations with Natwest today. Long story short they reversed all recent charges, which were unbelievable, (yawn) and marked them as 'bank error' s.
Also 'advised' that the FO was my right and maybe I would like to pursue that route.
Just when I was flagging....
