hi, have just added up all my charges and intrest and sent it today but reading all other letters what has been written, that I am not entitled to the intrest so why bother with the calculater then, and am wondering now if I should have left it just the charges, and do I leave it fourteen days before I send a second letter or longer,

    Hi All,

Just thought I would keep you updated.

I received an offer from Natwest today :j for the full amount of charges obivously not including interest or court cost. Im undecided as to what to do but am leaning slightly towards accepting - its very tempting. :p

But I filed with MCOL just over a week ago and Natwest has til Sunday to acknowledge the claim so im thinking of holding out on sending the acceptance letter off until Monday just in case they dont acknowledge and then I can ask for a judgement which would included interest and court fees, what do peeps think??

Also does your claim online get updated when they have acknowledged to say it has been acknowledged?? Cause online it doesnt even say it has been served and otherwise how will I know if they have or not??

When did you send your 1st letter Anna?
I do think the status gets changed on the MCOL system you just have to check but i think the MCOL thread would probably tell you somewhere in there.

Its up to you if you need the money accept now but if you can wait a while hold out and see what offer u get .

They received my first letter on the 21st March, but I didnt hear a single peep from them - nothing until this letter arrived this morning. 8 weeks was up on Wednesday so guess it is taking the full term.

Think I will just ring MCOL on Monday morning to see if they have acknowledged!!

    xx

    Hi All,
With respect to your queries re MCOL.
I am also claiming from Natwest.
Completed MCOL and then Natwest acknowledged they would be putting defence in at the last possible date so I would expect them to follow suit with you guys (sorry if thats not the answer you were hoping for).
You will probably then get long letter from Cobetts (Solicitors acting for them).
Try not to be put off, though, there appears to be others ahead of us who are experiencing success.

    Good luck!!

HI - sorry if this is a really stupid question but I really don't want to have to phone Natwest about this, I can't bear talking to them. I need to request my statements and will be putting a cheque for £10 in with my letter. Does anyone know who I need to make the cheque payable to? Many thanks in advance for help on this.

Hi. Natwest only charge £5.00 for this service, so don't give them more than you need to!

I sent my request to the details on the main thread with the list of banks and regulatory departments.

They have not been the fastest of the banks though. I sent my request on 17th April and still waiting, but it seems everybody has a different story to tell.

I have emailed them on several occassions to remind them I am still waiting. They have now sent me an email stating that statements will be despatched within 7 days - lets see!!!!!

    Good luck.

    Hi K1mmie,

I am chasing natwest credit card for unfair charges and used this address to get statements. I had 3 responses to my first letter the next working day - two were looking into it and the third was an offer for £12 instead of £20 per charge without even getting to the request letter stage. I have said no and sent request for full amount.
I am also chasing natwest bank for bank charges and have used my branch address, do you suggest I use this address or my branch as I have had no response to what is now my 2nd letter threatening legals in less than two weeks.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hi all,

    Im at the stage now where I need some advise on how to continue ;

First letters sent to natwest HO on 10/04/07 , nothing received back. (Special Delivery have been received and signed for)

Second letters sent to natwest HO on 30/04/07 , nothing received back. (Special Delivery have been received and signed for)

Do I now start court proceedings or is it worth waiting a couple more days for a letter to arrive?

Is it advised to fill in the online court procedure or lodge the documents direct with the court?

    Thanks all!
  • Hi everyone,

Just an update on my situation....

I got home from work after being really stressed that Naffwest had charged me another £146.00 in charges to find a letter on my doorstep from them!!

It went a bit like thanks for your correspondence, blah blah blah,
Sorry you feel the charges are unfair, we dont, blah blah blah,
HOWEVER, as a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice.....
we would like to offer you £2076.00 in full and final settlement!!!

My initial claim is for £2182.00 plus interest of £131.68. I also have court fees of £120.00 as Naffwest did not respond to any letter so I completed my MCOL claim online on the 5th May 2007 (they havent responded yet and have until the 22nd to do so). And now there is the matter of £146.00 in new charges!!

I have decided to call them 2moro and tell them that I will accept their offer and cancel the court proceedings if they include court fees and the new charges in an updated offer. ( You dont get if you dont ask)

Chin up guys, the offers are coming through, maybe with no continuity, but they are coming!! We rule NAFFWEST can drool!!

Thanks Martin, I wouldnt of done this without you xx:money:
