Complaint against NatWest ongoing since January.

Finally received a cheque from Cobbetts for £1600.

My response: Thanks very much but what about all my out-of-pocket expenses for phone calls, photocopying, postage, car journeys across the county to the court? Send me another £168 and I will dismiss the case.

Cobbett's response: can't do that, you wouldn't be awarded that in court.

My response: The hearing is in 16 days. Your call. No cheque, hearing goes ahead.

£168 received from Cobbetts 4 days before hearing due!

First complained early January. Lodged county court case early March.

    So only five months!

The whole saga followed 'the script' as mentioned here many times, to the letter!

The payment/s I received were of course 'goodwill payments', no liability admitted.

Fine, who gives a monkeys, as long as I get my money back.

(Overdrawn £29 for a single day = £1587 according to natWest!)

    Hi Ya,
just follow the time scale set out in Martins article,
You could try phoning them, a lot of people have had their requests settled after speaking to them. Don't let them bully you into giving up by stating that the fees they charge are legal, just tell them you intend to start court proccedings if they don't pay up & give them another 7 days or so.
If you don't want to phone them, just start court proceedings, the courts will notify them that you have.
What you have to remember is that all this adds time to getting you claim settled.

Did you send the letters recorded delivery? if so check on https://www.royalmail.com track & trace to make sure they have got them.

Am SO happy. :j Just got a letter from Nat West.Ofering all our charges in full.(£994.57). Stunned. There has been no communication whatsoever from the bank. We got the statments back no trouble and sent the first letter recorded. Nothing not a word. DH got really angry as we have bent over backwards to avoid incurring charges(in fact we discovered that one DD fe had been charged twice on the same day!) Issued procedings online. This was three weeks ago, Again nothing. Resigned to going to court, then this morning recorded delivery letter complete with cheque enclosd. We couldn't or crtainly wouldn't have done this without your help, advice and support.:T For that i want to say thank you so much.
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

If anyone wants inspiration, you might want to listen to My Chemical Romance's song 'Black Parade'. Kept me going thru it all! [bit of light relief]

Rang the number and after multiple attempts, finally got through to an advisor.

They say they have recieved my letter on the third of may, It was the third letter giving them 14 days to reply or i will go ahead with court action.

I sent this letter on the 23rd of april.
Their 14 days is up from the day of writing but they say they reserve the right to have 8 weeks before correspondence?!
