I've just been put in timeforrevenge's position .. I'm not worried. Naturally, I would've liked for this to be not such a long drawn out thing, but if they settle just before the court date: Fine! .. if I do end up going to court: Great! .. I'll rip them apart and spit their lawyers out.

Don't be scared of them, timeforrevenge .. it's what they want .. they want you to shy away.

I certainly intend to kick their butts if it gets to court.
    Nat West = CONQUERED: 10/02/07 .. PAID UP IN FULL .. OVER £2800!! :j

Hi I have put all together and got just over £1700, but I have two questions.
    One:
I had an Advantage Gold Acc. which charge me about £10 every month (as far as I know this is non refundable, let me know if I’m wrong).on some occasions the bank charge me £38 witch inc. £10 advantage gold fees + £28 for going over overdraft. In both I have only detailed it as CHARGES on its own. Do I have to figure it out by myself and make it £28 if on the statements it’s showed £38?

    Second
Should I add interest on the top straight away with my initial letter or it’s too greed and the case will finished in court? I know it’s my choice but i`d like to know your opinion. It’s over £500.

    Regards Thomas

I am in the process of claiming these unfair charges from NatWest, is it ok if I send the first letter/docs ( I already have all my statements) to my branch or is it better to send them to head office / wherever, if to head office what is the address - I live in Yorkshire

Charges that you can claim are in this thread...

You can't claim for using ATM's here or abroad.

As regards listing your charges, do make sure this is accurate as this is your defence for court. All charges should be listed separately and it should be said what the charge is and the date taken against each charge.

If you requested them under the Data Protection Act they have up to 40 days. If you just asked for statements and made no reference to the DPA then it may be days, weeks, months or never!

  • dubaudio- I wrote a guide to Advantage Gold and unarranged borrowing so it would be easy to work out. I hope that bit helps.
In relation to Graduate Accounts what happens is that the overdraft on year 1 can go as high as £2000 interest free, year 2 is £1000 interest free and Year 3 is £500 interest free(20% interest is not on a Graduate account).
    Hope that clarifies graduate bit.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
