Rex, that's really heartening to hear.
Although they've acknowledged my claim, a defence hasn't dropped through my letterbox yet. They've got until the 6th to do that, so time feels like it's running very slowly for me at the moment.
Now I know that "if" that defence drops through in the mail .. I can ignore it and just wait for the AQ to arrive.
Feasibly, they've only got from Tuesday 2nd - Saturday 6th 00:01am to reply, so there may be a possibility that I might hear nothing (?)
Here's hoping things go smoothly for me.Nat West = CONQUERED: 10/02/07 .. PAID UP IN FULL .. OVER £2800!! :j0 -

Did not hear from Natwest ...
*1st Letter sent 08/12/06
*Letter Back from Natwest 13/12/06 - Looking into and will respond by 29/12/06
* A further letter from Natwest 20/12/06 - Passed onto their Specialist Team to be looked into, stating contact within 2 days
* Christmas & New Year passed - No responses
*** Called their Specialist team and was passed to their lending team, who then passed me through to their Debt Management Team, and back to their Specialist team once I actually spoke to someone who did actually listen to me, however, she was no use as her response was we are still looking into it and I would be contacted "in due course". When I asked if she thought 1 month was acceptable, she replied "We have had a unusually large number of this type of enquiry as as you would expect it is taking us longer to respond", I then asked if she thought is was acceptable to charge people forcing them to incur late charge, default notices and sometimes bankrupsy, she replied - "I am unable to comment on that".
With that I confirmed that she was not providing me with a refund and ended the call.
I am fuming -
Sending the next letter today, al be it a bit late, I too have been stalling as I am not sure If I can afford the court fees, I was naive to think the bank would realise the charges are unfair and to refund them.
A/C 1 - £2976.21
A/C 2 - £1071.00

I just filed a claim online, so what happens now and what time scale are we talking?0

"It's very important to use the banks registered address for the court claim....."
Hmmm.. Thought I was on top of this whole thing, so started a claim against the natwest branch, then read the above.
Phoned claim online who advised me to send in the claim again (by post), but with a request for a "court sealed address change" Was fairly standard, but will obviously delay the whole process.
Other than the delay, does anyone know of any other possible repercussions?
Thanks
Steve
ps. Still very confident (99.9%)0 -
still not had a reply from natwest to am sending the letter tomoz to chase them. i have decide to ask for a smaller settlement as i cant afford to pay the fee for the small claims court, i have copied Martins template but have a query. In one paragraph it states that i am looking for payment within 14 days and at the end it syas i want a response within 7 days. should i leave it like that so they have 7 days to answer my letter and then 7 days to give me the money or is it 14 days in total for an anser and payment ie i have to wait upto 14 days to hear from thm?
if that makes sense!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
hi guys!, help pls here's my situation, i've left the overdraft for quite sometime and it has risen up to 800 quid =/, i called up the bank and apparantly my account is now managed by the debt department, so i told them i would like to reclaim the overdraft charges, the guy told me there was no banking error in their side so i cannot reclaim the charges?
and they said i should have contacted them earlier which i should have (tried to boycott):(
so now he said he have set up a repayment plan for 136 quid a month so i deem to agree with it, is there a way to reduce the ammount i shouldpay and get those charges back? this is kinda ridiculus when the balance only went up so high with the charges
thanks in advance0 -
It doesn't matter what the bank have told you (they want to keep your money). You can still reclaim your charges. Read Martins article, and follow the steps he has set out to reclaim these charges. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
