Natwest have only recently set up this new section to deal with reclaiming charges. If you send the letters to your local branch, they will forward them onto the relevent department. You don't need to resend anything. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hi people,
I have been through the entire process now including Moneyclaim.
Am claiming several thousand off Natwest but they have now entered a defence!!!!
It tells me online there's nothing more I can do on there and I will hear from the court service!!!
Please help - I don't know if I have blown it all now - I didn't think it would get to this stage!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!0 -
From what I've heard they enter a defence then will pull out just before the court date and pay the full amount.
Have a read through the threads on here, Im sure Ive read that somewhere0 -
Dont panic!!!
I got further than this with Natwest, and they still paid in full (over £3300) before any court hearing. See post #8 in THIS THREAD for an idea of what will happen next and some guidance.
You just have to sit and wait to hear from the court now.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Out of interest:
What happens with the small claim? You submit it online, the bank has x days to file a defence and then x number of independant Lawyers/Soliciters/Financial Experts review the case and give a verdict?
Has a case ever been fought in court or have they all been resolved out of court?
What happens if the Small Claims Court rules in the Banks favour?0 -
You submit your claim............
The bank has a chance to enter a defence. If they do, you are sent another form to fill in (allocation questionnaire), and told which court you will go to. You will then hear from the court giving the date of your hearing. You will be asked at this stage to submit your full case, including any evidence, or anything relevent to your case. You then go to court, and sit in front of a judge (in a small room, not in full court) along with the banks solicitors. You each get a chance to state your side of the case. The judge then decides who wins/loses the case.
In reality..........
Many banks have submitted a defence. Many people have got to the AQ stage, and been given a date for their hearing, but the banks settle before it gets to the judge. I've heard of one case that went into court out of many 1000s.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I really hope mine doesn't get to court! I wouldn't have a clue where to start!0 -
hello all, what an inspirational lot you are! i'm going to use the templates on this site to get the ball rolling and see what transpires, spurred on by stories of success and guile!!! :j
i have a graduate act. with natwest, which affords me a rather lovely £1600 interest free o'draft. however, as i understand it this expires in July (36 months after graduation) so i'll be paying nigh on 20% interest come then. tomorrow afternoon i'll be contacting alliance & leicester as advised by this site, to discuss opening one of their premier direct internet accounts. my credit history isn't the best so we'll have to wait and see. but, i do have a nationwide cash builder and a partner with good credit to fall back on if natwest take the hard line and close my act. :rotfl:
i've read these threads and the articles, but am a little confused, as what constitutes 'charges' seems a little ambiguous. talk is mainly of penalty charges, but would i also be able to claim for things such as withdrawing money abroad. i used my debit card to withdraw cash in se asia for a month, and was charged about £10 a pop! surely this is 'extravagant' and can be included in the original claim?has anyone done this, and do people think it will put the bank in a better position to defend the claim as opposed to if it were just a claim for bounced cheques, s/orders and d/debits?
