Ok so it's got to the point now where I'm seriously thinking of giving up. Started my claim back in March, stuck to the timescales and heard nothing back whatsoever from Natwest. Filled with MCOL and it was issued on the 22nd of April, same as FrugalPam. They had until Sunday to acknowledge and some crazy optimistic part of me thought maybe they wouldn't. But yesterday they did.
Just not sure now if i have the will to carry on with it all. Having to fill in more forms and deal with their defence just seems too daunting and the thought of it dragging on through all of summer gets me down. I've a baby due in 7 weeks so enough to think about. However i've got bills mounting up, and still getting charges every month so really do need the money. Anyone got any words of encouragement to keep me going, or should i just admit defeat.!!!

Please please please don't give up now, you've gone this far, it's only a matter of time before they pay what is rightfully yours. Stick with Frugalpam (I'm sure she won't mind me saying that) as you are at the same stage together, get through it with her, she has lots of moral support to give

You will get your money, just think....when you do, you will have your little new born, life full of sleepless nights & dirty nappies (I know, I'm going through it myself :rotfl: ) but you won't be struggling & worrying about money as much..............keep at it & keep your chin up (as well as your feet ;) )

If you have come all this way it would be a shame to give up now so i would say keep going. Ive read all sorts of posts on here some people getting an offer straight away some not until the very last minute and some people going even further even sending in the baliffs! The result has all been the same though everyone seems to have got their money back! :T

I too didnt hear a peep from natwest but rang yesterday and been given a verbal offer - i am in real need of the money and i dont know how long its gonna take them to send my letter which i have to agree to and send back ( another long process). I am thinking now of just ringing them saying i accept it and it doesnt matter about the extra charges since my claim as long as the settle asap!!! I dont know what to do some people have told me to fight more some have said accept. At the end of the day it all comes down to how long you can wait for your money. The only thing id say is that after all your work you cant give up now and let them get away with it.

If you have alook through this thread im sure you'll find some encouraging posts to spur you on - thats whats keeping me going. I too started my claim back in march so heres hoping we hear soon eh! x

Just rang customer support & spoke to another really nice girl, I asked when I should expect to see my money in my account after sending back their offer letter on 30/04/07, she said it's in already, it went in this morning :j typical, the only day I don't drive to the cash point to see if it's there myself.....I wanted to see it printed out in black & white :rotfl:

I know everyone keeps saying this but PLEASE PLEASE keep going with your claims, they seem to be catching up......the girl told me today that they are working ALL bank holiday weekend to catch up with the backlog, so don't worry :D

I'll post on the success thread later today, I want to see it in black & white, silly I know :rotfl:

Edited to add: If it helps (after reading the last 2 posts) I started my claim on 16th March

How long has your claim been going on? And how long has it been since you had a verbal offer, your offer letter being sent and you receiving the money? - I really want mine to hurry up!

Oh and well done!! Glad to hear of another victory!

Right, i have phoned them and i was told to ring another number, that told me to ring another number and i finally go through to the royal bank of scotland, and the lady said i was not on the spreadsheet, this is because i sent my schedule to 135 Bishopsgate, and she said this is the address for litigation and i should of sent it to the Borehamwood address and i said what would the next step be- and i was told that they have 8 weeks to reply but i would get a letter of acknowledgement within 14 days and then an offer letter within 7 days she also said thati would not get anything that i wasn't entitled to. she said thqat they are not accepting claims via email too.

I need to resend everything to the Borehamwood address and then call again next week.

Thanks for that, really does help, as does reading through the success thread which is what i've just done. Guess i just keep on with it and hope that it works out ok. It's almost 4,000 including interest, and i'd hate to think of Natwest keeping hold of that much of my money. Thanks again, and well done PAW169 really pleased for you.!

    Requested statements 19/02/07
1st letter sent requesting charges 16/03/07 no response
2nd letter requesting charges 30/03/07 no response
    Sent email to Customer.relations@natwest.com 12/04/07
    Received a reply on 19/04/07

Rang a couple of times inbetween,

1st: no record on their system, ring back in a few weeks,

2nd: I rang back in a week, verbal offer of full amount & got reference number. (Then I sent the email)

3rd: rang again the following week & was quoted 2 weeks before I would recieve it, only 3 days later (30/04/07) I got the letter offering full amount in full & final settlement of this claim blah blah blah. Posted back, signed, dated & sent recorded delivery same day.

Rang today, money in my account.

Mine was just over £4,000 without interest so keep at it, it doesn't matter what amount you are claiming, large or small or inbetween, YOU WILL GET IT :T

Realistically your letter should filter through to the right department as it does when people send to their branch (as I did). Don't be disheartened, merely send the same again to Borehamwood, stating that your timescales still stand as in the original letter, then, carry on with YOUR timescales NOT the banks.

You haven't hit a brick wall, merely experienced a MINOR stalling tactic from Natwest ;)
