Nice post and very kind. I know most of what the newer people are asking has been addressed in much MUCH earlier posts but, as I found coming in on this a bit later in the process, it is daunting and trolling through many posts is a bit heavy work with a heavy heart. Sticky has a great link which covers the basics and should be promoted to ease some of the understandably endless questions for the new people taking a stand. 'Reclaim Bank Charges Help Thread' on the main reclaim page.
One last comment...
I am at the one last pre-court stage. Emailed like mad to customer relations and finally uttered the immortal words 'Financial Ombudsman' and suddenly stops seem to be being pulled. This might be a tact to consider in earlier proceedings?
Keep the faith. The !!!!!!s are going down!

Thanks Leaf
Actually, if Natwest decide to put in a defence with my claim, I'm thinking I might well refer it to the Ombudsman  .... the banks really are in fear of the FO

PS Have had a quick look at how to answer the Cpr part 18 request and the legal jargon has knitted my brain. Maybe I'd better read up on this tomorrow when I'm awake, just in case I need it.

Can anyone point me to right thread for preparing trial bundle. My hearing is 4 July - NatWest. Does anyone know if there is any information if the bank have been charging you since the date of MCOL. I think I have a further 200 pounds been incurred on my account. Can I claim this in with my original claim or do I have to do totally separate claim for this? Greatly appreciate any help Jayne G.Nat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!
HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.
Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA0 -
im quite new to this too, i have claimed just about everything except intrest, on your natwest statement it should list Referal fees (which is lumped together for the previous month) , unpaid items , Gtee payment fee
I got a print out from my local branch (which listed all these charges for me) and highlighted all my charges, it makes it a bit easier0 -

Its up to you really however i never received any letters from natwest and when i rang the other day they said that they have received my letters and they have 8 weeks to reply - still stuck to my timescale and sent my court letter. Rang yesterday and apparently have been made an offer so just waiting for my letter - hope this comes before my hols!!!
I suppose theres no harm in ringing at least that way you will know what is going on and they will no you are persistent and being serious about the matter!

Ooooooh i dont know what to say to them!!! i really need this money as it will make me debt free- and leave me with a little to maybe start my own ironing/cleaning business. I just dont want to p*** them off or to make them close my bank account as my credit is shot to pieces but with my bank account i have a maestro cheque guareentee card ( which i never use to write cheques, without having the available funds) i have tried to open a parachute acount with Alliance and Leicester but they refused me.
oh whats a girl to do......

I dont think you will p*** them off after all you are only making an enquiry about your claim - like i suspect everyone else has seeing as i was on hold for 20+ mins! The lady i spoke to was nice and helpful gave me a reference number too incase i need to call back and when i did i just gave them that and then found out more info - like i had been made an offer if i hadnt of rang i wouldnt know that as i have not had one letter.
Just ask them if they have received your letters and roughly how long it will take - they normally tell you this anyway.
Have you tried the TSB for opening another account? I opened my 2nd one there and i have an overdraft with natwest that im always in!!
If you say you are thinking about moving your account from a bank to theirs they might give you some good offers after all its another bit of business for them.
Try applying on line see what they say that way you dont have to waste your time going into the bank itself.LBM - April 2007Claimed back my bank charges from Natwest - £1196Halifax Credit Card Claiming £467.35 Rec £467.35!/Capital One Card Claiming - £523.92/Barclaycard Claiming - £403.58 Rec £403.58/MBNA Claiming - £584.37 Rec£584.37Proud to be dealing with my debtsUpdate: 2009 - Currently claiming £1900 from Natwest0 -
Hello all,
Just to let you know that i have had a verbal offer this morning of £1754 on a claim of £1942 so i am going to accept although i am in the middle of arguing regarding £250 that they are going to take, too long a story but very much a bank error. Am chuffed but i am waiting to get the money before i pop the champagne cork, well non alcolholic wine as i am 6 months pregnant! Keep at it everyone, i made a decision that i would take them al the way and i think you have to... Good Luck.XXXXX0
