hi, i have just phoned the 0845 number, was not on hold for very long, almost polite person on the phone, she has also told me that they are following the FAS guidelines who have given them 7 weeks to reply to the letters, they have received my 1st letter on the 12th, even though it was handed into my local branch on the 5th of april, she said i should get a letter of offer by 31st may, i explained i have handed in my 2nd letter and that has 7 days remaining, shall i phone again when 7 days is up and tell them i will be making a complaint to the ombudsman as i have had no replies or send them another letter giving them 7 days or i will be taking court action(giving them the date i will be doing it) bit confused with it all, and getting to the point where i feel like quitting. my nerves are shot to pieces at the moment, any advice would be great.

Hi there - i got told all the same this morning. Although they now seem to just be telling people that 'an offer will be made' as opposed to a few weeks ago when it was a case of 'claim being investigated'. i guess it depends how much you need the money and if you are in a position to be able to pay for going to court..... i'm not really desperate for the money...however neither am I in a position to take them to court (not till pay day anyway..!) so i am happy to wait till 18th May which is when she said i should have received an offer... its only 5 days after the 14 days of my second letter so its neither here or there... i will chase them again then.
I guess its up to you - tha majority of advice on here is to stick to the timescales YOU set not the ones natwest set.

Hi, just need to clear something up ~ I have sent my letters to Nat west heard nothing- so i sent the letter with schedule of charges plus interest to 135 bishopsgate address, but i have read on here about a different address and also an email address- does this mean that you can request your charges back via email? also the 0800 telephone number, do you then chase up your claim with that? i have had no reply to any letters i have sent, and i only sent my schedule on 30/04/07 by recorded delivery... what do i do now? phone? or resend the whole lot to the different address- hertfordshire- i think?!

    sorry- i'm just so confused!!!!

    Thanks in advance
    Molly x

Does anyone know if i have done this right?

    Thanks again

Im not too sure - i sent my letters to the borehamwood address and also the customer care team in Manchester as when i had my first claim going through last year this is where the correspondence came from.

The number i have rang just to check on my claim was the customer care number 0800 015 4212 although someone has posted an alternative number on here which seems to be quicker to get through on.

I also have read that some people have mailed there claims to the customer.relations@natwest.com address - i have sent a revised schedule by this method after posting my claim however i am not too sure if they are any quicker responding to it.

I have never received a letter off them but rang that number and they have got my letters and apparently i am being sent an offer letter!

All you need to do is stick to the timescales on the front page of this website then you should be fine. :)

  • i recently requested statements for the last 6 years (march 2001 onwards). i got statements in post today which only went back to oct 2002. i phoned natwest and they said that any statements prior to oct 2002 would be dealt with by a different company - the reason, (apparently) is cos natwest were taken over by royal bank of scotland in oct 2002.
anyway, they said that the older statements would arrive in the post separately but i was wondering:-
    1. has this happened to anyone else?
    2. are natwest messing me about?

    thanks.

Just a quick update on my claim. Received an offer today less £300 less court fee of £250 less interest of £1050ish i dont know whether to accept or go for the whole lot as in the court process. Natwest acknoledged my claim today and so have a further 14 days to defend which will be the 21st of may what would you do?
Should i just be glad that they have made me an offer or try and go all the way any suggestion most grateful

The same happened to me, and Natwest have acknowledged my MCOL claim today.
When I rang MCOL, they advised me that, as my claim is now in the court system, that I should not accept their partial offer but stick out for the full amount - charges, interest and court fees, and to write to the bank to accept their offer as part payment of my claim and without prejudice, which I did. They've now got until 20th May to either put in a defence or pay up. I'm in for the long haul - they WILL refund me all my money !! Personally I wouldn't let them off any money - have they ever let you off any charges?

I think my dates are identical to yours because the 20th is a sunday we can't send judgement til the monday 21st. I think i might just wait a bit and see what happens as they have said i have 8 weeks to accept offer anyway. And see if they come up with any more or see if i can send judgement:) You know what you are exactly right i'm gonna do exactly the same as you cheers for that.
