    Hiya!!

Just thought I'd tell you that a cheque came from Natwest this morning with charges, interest & court fee, it was only for £203 but will help towards the new bubba :D

This is a brief account in case it helps anyone:

    28/02/07 Charges letter sent
    19/03/07 LBA sent
30/03/07 Called to chase, they denied all knowledge
04/04/07 Called again - same response. MCOL filed
12/04/07 Natwest acknowledged intending to defend claim
26/04/07 Letter offering charges back via Customer Relations - declined in writing & by email
03/05/07 Cheque for full amount rec'd from solicitor (5 days before their 28 days were up)

    :T

Thanks for the help on here, just got Halifax left to deal with now!! Good luck with your claims

    Hi

I sent a letter to Natwest on 29th March requesting 6 years bank statements for an account which i became overdrawn on by £300 due to penalty charges being added. The account was closed and a default was issued against me. I have not recieved any statements despite sending another letter on 19th April.

Does anyone have any suggestions as without the statements I don't know how much my charges are? Also does anyone know about defaults and if this could be removed as it was all down to penalty charges in the first place?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi All

Just thought id update you on my progress today i called the customer care line as in all this time since march i have had no letters from natwest! I was on hold for 25 mins and finally got to speak to someone.

A lady said i had been offered an amount of 920 odd pounds which was my orginal request for a refund - however i dropped a clanger here and deducted the £12 charge from each of my charges so really it should have been alot higher than this!

Since requesting my charges back i have since been charged another £170!!!

The thing i need advice about is shall i just cut my losses and except as im going away in just over 2 weeks and the money would come in very handy or shall i fight and decline the offer as they have since charged me more!

I dont want them to get away with my money but on the other hand getting the majority of my charges back is pretty good going and i want have to go through MCOL (which i havent got the money to do) At this present time i am really skint so the offer is very tempting.

If i dont accept it this could go on further which i dont really want but there is no guarentee i will get the offer letter before my hols anyway so still might be no better off!

To be honest the bank will get a hefty bit back as i want to pay off my overdraft and it means i can have spends for my hols and do some home improvements in time for summer (think i might be convicing myself here!haha)

Any help and advice would be great - this site has helped me so much and thanks to everyone who replies to my posts your all stars!!! :T

    hi,

i was reading your earlier posts & was wondering if you could help me please.

sorry to ask for you personally but i am really stuck here!

since my original claim i have been charged an extra 76 pounds and an extra 38 pounds today..I want to email them like you did and add these charges on but i dont know what to write and do i need to do a full list of all my 6 years charges again in the email or can i just quote my ref and acoount no and the new charges? its just that i think there is too many to list the full 6 years in an email and they have already had the 6 years twice in letters??
sorry for going on and i hope you understand what im on about..

do you think that sending this email with new charges will result in a further delay to my claim?

i did have a letter all prepared yesterday to send but i since come across your post and it gave me the idea..
and according to them when you send a letter it takes 5 days to get into their system..
many many thanks & once agiain sorry for going on!!

No probs ive asked and received some much advice off here its great to be able to help others.

Not too sure whether this was the right thing to do but heres what i did -
I added the extra charges to my previous list with dates and amounts showing - if you have the original list saved add them to the bottom and attach it as an email like i did. On the first page of your email state your details account number, name etc, state that you have orginally made a claim on (the date) and since then you have been charged extra charges. Total the new revised amount. Make sure you tell them that your orginal timescales stand and you would like to hear from them within the next 14 days if this is your last letter (mine was the one threatening court action).

To be honest i dont think it will delay your claim however i dont know how quick they are reading through the emails my orginal requests were posted.

If you have been reading the thread you will see that they have made me an offer before these extra charges - i am just debating what to do about it!!!

The lady on the telephone at customer relations did ask me how much my revised claim was for though after i told her i emailed it the other day - so who knows i might get more on my offer letter now - I will keep you updated.

Its worth a go i would say!! Good luck :)

    Hi Everyone,

I'm very confused, I've just dialled 0845 3030 456 and the lovely voicemail man said "Welcome to the Royal Bank of Scotland" but it has the same cheesy Fatwest elevator music....

    Can anyone shed some light?

  • hi, i have just phoned the 0845 number, was not on hold for very long, almost polite person on the phone, she has also told me that they are following the FAS guidelines who have given them 7 weeks to reply to the letters, they have received my 1st letter on the 12th, even though it was handed into my local branch on the 5th of april, she said i should get a letter of offer by 31st may, i explained i have handed in my 2nd letter and that has 7 days remaining, shall i phone again when 7 days is up and tell them i will be making a complaint to the ombudsman as i have had no replies or send them another letter giving them 7 days or i will be taking court action(giving them the date i will be doing it) bit confused with it all, and getting to the point where i feel like quitting. my nerves are shot to pieces at the moment, any advice would be great.

Hi the lady i spoke to took my details and then asked if it was natwest or RBS - when i clarified natest, she had to take my details again. Guessing they are RBS staff but have access to both systems... she knew the dates my letters were recieved etc and it was all correct so she def had access to my account records or wherever they are storing these claims.......
