Can I just ask, did you request a cheque? is your account still open?. Just wondering as I requested payment via cheque in all my letters.
Hi
I did not have any discussion it just came out of the blue. The last correspondance I had was quite nasty. Cobbetts style of defence was quite scary. I do think they were trying to scare me off, but really it just strengthened my resolve.
They have not closed my account, and have made no mention of doing this now or at any time in their letter. They have requested that I stop the proceedings, which of course I will. They also ask that I agree to a gagging clause which is complete nonsense and they cannot legally enforce this.
The cheque does say it has to be paid into my account, but I was going to do that anyway to pay off my overdraft. I am going to make sure they do not get another penny off me!!

Natwest have finally paid up!!
Sent 1st letter 26th Feb and further letter 12th Mar. Had heard nothing so contacted customer relations and was told offer letter in system. Thought I was being fobbed off but as I couldn't afford to pursue through MCOL decided I'd have to wait.
And wait I did!! Received offer letter 21st March for £200 less than I'd claimed for. Sent it back immediately (special delivery) and the money was credited to my account yesterday all £4028!!
I feel like I've won the lottery and despite all the waiting I can't believe its been this easy!!
Thanks to all on this thread that have offered words of advise over the last few weeks, and I really hope you all have great results too.
Thanks again!!

Hi,
I sent my letter requesting charges back on 16th April, I have my threat of court letter ready for Tuesday but I have had a letter from Boreham wood this morning to say they are investigating my claim. What should I do now?0 -

It's just normal procedure from Natwest, most people don't get any response to their letters, carry on regardless & send your next letter on Tuesday. Good luck0 -
Well, I week after I served a claim on Natwest, I got an offer letter (undated!) through this morning! All the blah blah blah about the charges not being unfair etc, but that they're offering me a refund of the charges 'as a gesture of goodwill' (standard letter)
Now going to read through the thread to see how I reply to this - they didn't send this offer within the timescale I set out so I am of course going to pursue my interest charges and court fees, which adds up to a further £450ish pounds. Has anyone else written this sort of letter - any tips?
cheers,
Pam0 -

Hiya Matey,
Maybe you could try saying you accept their offer "without pejudice" in patial payment as you are now at MCOL stage & you would like the court costs & interest re-payed too?0
