Hi,
I have sent a recoreded letter on the 11th April requesting payment with interest (£2283) and threatening court action within 14 days etc (3rd Letter), i have had no response. The recorded letter i have sent has not been signed for accorrding to the Royal Mail website.
Shall i proceed with the court action and file a claim or should i send another letter?
I think Natwest have the letter but didnt sign for it and i dont really want to phone them.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks0 -
After Natwest denied to have received any letters from me, I began MCOL, to which they have acknowledged & their 28 days will be up on the 8th May.
Today I received a letter from Stuart Higley saying he would refund the £129 charges....hmmm!
I would like the £30 court fee refunded & I've seen some people get interest back too whilst in the MCOL process (though I know I'm not entitled to this yet)...what's the best way to go about this, call him & discuss it or write to him...any advice appreciated.
TIA x
Hi same thing happened to me - I wrote a letter to Natwest saying that as they had pursued with the court case I could only accept an offer that would include a refund of my fees - they said no! I'm carrying with the court case to get it all back0 -
thanks paw169 for that good idea.. just 1 more thing do i add 8% on each single charge or add 8% onto the whole amount claimed..thanks again xx
oh i forgot to ask..can anybody claim interest at mcol stage or is it only for certain accounts??? thank u thank u xx
On the calculator it asks for the charge amount & the date applied, then you click add interest & it will do it for you. It's 8% interest on each charge from the date it was applied. If your claim gets to the MCOL stage then you are entitled to the interest, I only asked for my charges to be refunded in my letters to the bank but INCLUDED the interest amount (so they could see what they'd have to pay IF it went to MCOL), you are not entitled to interest by law until MCOL/Court stages, hope this helps.0 -

The general rule of thumb is to stick to your timescales, if MCOL is due then file with them if you want, I'd have done mine but haven't had time to sit & concentrate on it as yet.
I was in my branch this morning & the postman walked in, went to the customer service desk & handed over a pile of letters, quite a few in 1 pile was recorded (I could see the stickers on the front clearly), he just left them on the desk & walked out after saying "good morning" to the bank staff member, I was shocked  I thought "I bet they are reclaim charges letters!0 -
Hi
I am new to the forum and noticed a few people are having difficulty claiming back charges from natwest. I have previously claimed charges back although i settled at just under half the amount they owed me because i needed the money, since then they have continued to charge me again.
I have wrote 4 letters in total 2 each to each of the people who wrote to me regarding my initial claim but havent had anything back off them as yet.
Just wondering what my next step will be, will I have to write to them again using the template provided which states i will take them to court?
Any help will be appreciated as Im at a loss now about what to do.LBM - April 2007Claimed back my bank charges from Natwest - £1196Halifax Credit Card Claiming £467.35 Rec £467.35!/Capital One Card Claiming - £523.92/Barclaycard Claiming - £403.58 Rec £403.58/MBNA Claiming - £584.37 Rec£584.37Proud to be dealing with my debtsUpdate: 2009 - Currently claiming £1900 from Natwest0 -
hi
Having just scanned through 6 years worth of Natwest statements I can only find 1 single charge entitled Charges for £12 which appears to be for a bankers draft. All my transactions seem to be under the following headings
Cash Withdrawal
Card Transaction
Standing Order
Drect Debit
Interest
Are all Charges usually marked clearly as type 'Charges'? if so unfortunately I dont think I can claim back anything
Thanks for your help
can someone help with this please?
thanks in advance0 -

You are welcome.
Most people put head office but I've read on this site that if you use your branch it's easier if the bailiffs have to go in to get your money (very unlikely but has been done), when I do mine, I'm using my branch
but like I said most put head office.0 -

yes I understand that but was wondering how ANY of these charges APPEAR on statements.
As I said, I only have the above 4-5 types of payments/transactions when looking down the list - none seem to show CHARGE in any of the items. This is what i am asking - should it actually state EXACTLY what the charge is and the name for it? or does it get incorporated into other transactions?0
