I know i am ranting but i am so angry, i am ringing them tomorrow to tell the they can forget there 56 days and i want my money!!!
Just stick to the process set out on this site, don't phone or deviate from the process and you'll be fine.
Even if they send you letters saying an offer will be made but you will have to wait 56 days, just carry on and follow everything laid out on this site.
I have made calls to them and it doesnt make any difference, they are all told what to say and how to delay you anyway they can.Natwest - LBA sent 26/04/07, FO. Sent email to Michael Duncan on 11/05/07. SUCCESS - Offer letter received 19/05/07 for full amount.
Natwest Credit Card - 1st letter sent 27/4/2007 (£294) SUCCESS - Full amount repaid
Capital One - 1st Letter 03/2007, FO in Sep 07. SUCCESS full amount repaid Jan 080 -

I definitely wouldn't bother phoning them - and send the letters in the advised timescales. And don't forget to reclaim those latest charges also!
It's tempting to want to ring/write and let rip at them, but it's water off a duck's back to the banks, and will only stress you out. They WILL refund you, you'll see

Hi, I called my branch of NatWest to find out where to send my letter requesting the refund of charges - I didn't need to ask for a list of these as I had all the statements so just sent photocopies of relevant sheets and a schedule of charges.
I was advised to send all correspondence to
Nat West Customer Relations
FREEPOST NAT12685
Boreham Wood,
Herts WD6 1BR
Stamped (yes, I know it says FREEPOST but belt and braces)
and posted (and dated) my 'reply within 14 days' letter on the 17th April and received their acknowledgement dated 23rd April this morning - addressed to MH not me tho' it's a joint account and letter was signed by us both! They "are currently investigating" (and splitting the infinitive) "and will respond asap".
As the amount I've asked for will almost pay off the OD on the account I am moving DDs and receipts to another account as if they return our charges I expect they'll close it down.

Ah, but you've got the satisfaction of knowing that's £120 less in their profits fund once they've paid you back! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have written to my bank asking for a refund at the beginning of April, i still havent heard anything. I have rung them up today to see what is happening and they said it is going to take 56 days to get a letter of repsonse from the bank. Is this right...it seems a very long time.0

hi cheekitika
like hell it should.........time for the second letter to be sent i should think......your second letter should give them 14days to reply
look in the template posts for the second template letter..........also add up ur interest and send off with another list of charges

Thanks for that einyuk. I did wonder whether 56 days was right or not. If i hadnt have rung them up (natwest), to find out what was going on, i wouldnt even have had this much info.....i havent had so much as a phonecall or a letter saying they are looking into it!!!
I am going to get on with the second letter now, plus the interest, as you stated. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.0 -
Standard timing for NatWest, I'll pop this into the Natwest thread and you'll find lots of people being told the same by them.0

I will stick to time frames but sometimes they make me so angry i could cry, infact i did today which made me angrier! the 14 days was up last week and the 14 working days is up this week so either way i am going to send the next letter. Being patient and kind gets you NOWHERE! Thanks for feedback guys, i am going to take this all the way now.0
