  • Hi all,
Have been reading this thread over the last few weeks and would like to say thankyou to all for all the advice.
I made a claim to natwest for £6038, went all the way to MCOL.
I recieved an offer of £5773 :T over the weekend from the bank, and the defence and request for further info from Cobbetts!!
However have accepted the offer from the bank as needing the money ASAP.
Called Natwest who advised that the money would be in my account up to 14 days from the date they recieve my completed form.
Will not stop MCOL until money safely in my account:rotfl:

Hi does anyone who's sucessfully claimed back from Natwest know roughly how long they take to make the direct transfer to your account?
Decided to accept their offer and returned the form back last friday just hoping it wont take another few weeks wait!!

    Thanks in advance!

I was made an offer on the friday, i wrote back to accept it immediately.
It hit my account on the monday.
However, my claim was dealt with before the most recent press & tv coverage, so, as i'd imagine the claims being dealt with are higher now, i'd assume that you'll get your money within 2 weeks maximum.

Why don't you ring them up, find out what the heck is going on with it?

hi i called natwest cust rel this morning to see what was happening with my claim, i knwo they received my first letter on 29th march (not had chance to send the second yet).
i got straight thru in a couple of rings and the lady took my name and account details and without confirming any pin number / password / address she said that my claim was received on 29th and that it had been validated and letters were usually sent out within 21 days and that should mean i will receive a letter in the next few days but she was unaware of the contents of it........ does this sound correct or should i just go ahead now and send my next letter - all seemed a bit too easy to get the info - if you know what i mean????? thanks

Hi can somebody please tell me what I should do now. I have sent the court letter to my bank Nat west and I waited 14 working days but had no reply so I sent the final warning letter and 7 working days is up today but I have still had no response, should I phone the bank? I hand delivered the letters so they can not say they have not received them. I am claiming back £423.00 in charges I did not ask for the interest on these charges. What should I do now? regards Janeydon

Just rang the bank and was informed I was getting the full amount back £423.00 and would receive a letter confirming this by 12/05/07 then if I accept it will take 10 working days to be put into my account good luck anyone else who is trying stick with it :rotfl: :T :rotfl: :T

Well ive just spoken to Natwest for the third time and they have offered me £1869. My original claim was for £2001. They're sending me a letter to confirm this but have said it will take up to 56 days. CRAP! I asked her where the hell they are gettin this 56 days from and she said its because they have a lot of cases... Too bloody right they do cos they've ripped so many people off!
I'm gonna now send the letter tellin them they have 14 days before i start the mcol.
Anyone else havin the same problems???

Thanks for this Pam, also I have had a little bit of trouble with the particulars section. I used your previous posted links to threads and copied and pasted the statements but it was a bit too long so had to shorten it a bit and cut bits down and am now worried that I may have missed something vital, If I copy and paste it would you mind having a read for me??:o

Hi Anna - have sent you a PM :)

I would just send the next letter. The letter they will send out will undoubtedly be a short one stating they are dealing with your claim and will contact you shortly.

This is just a standard letter produced by the system and sent out. I've had 2 since my first letter. Sending 2nd Letter this Thursday as that will be 14 days. Then 7 days after that I will file with MCOL.

I'm not going to hang about with it. I would advise doing the same and sticking to your timetable and not letting them dictate the timeframes etc.

  • New here, so bear with me ............

Have had a conversation with Natwest customer services today and they have confirmed receiving my first letter requesting refund of charges + interest. They say "an offer is on the table" - must be their's not mine - cos' I haven't seen it!
Won't confirm receipt of my second letter threatening court action, and when I said, "OK I'll take you to court" the girl said she had to tell her supervisor so that they could "stop the claim" and I wouldn't be receiving any offers from them. My first letter was sent on the 13th March, and the second on the 4th April, so don't expect a reply anyway. They are also quoting "8 weeks to respond".
    So off to court ............

The 56 day letter is a just there way of saying that they have ripped too many people off for too long and now they are feeling the force of consumer action and can't cope with it. Shame isn't it?

They told me an offer had been made and I would get a letter but the letter that came just said they were investigating it. They are lying through their teeth. Just continue with the process and stick it to them.

  • I am pulling my hair out, quick story, i am in the process of claiming and have been told it can take up to 56 days bla bla bla and last week i wrote a cheque for £130 to my daughters nursery dated 26/4/07 explaining the date etc. when i checked account on Sunday the cheque had already gone and i was overdrawn, i rang and spoke to a lady who i thought sorted it to find today that over £100.00 in charges gone on account as the money that went in to see us till Thursday has been swallowed up and now i am being charged for card mis use and cheques bouncing and the lovely guy on the phone hung up on me. I know i am ranting but i am so angry, i am ringing them tomorrow to tell the they can forget there 56 days and i want my money!!!
