  • I've been receiving statements from nat west in yearly batches - had 2 years worth now & it looks as though they are going through them & refunding overdraft charges a few days after they billed them to the account. I note however they haven't credited me any interest .............yet..........

    I'm not saying anything to nat west until I have all the statements in front of me....just in case
    I do whatever my rice krispies tell me to :rolleyes:

    hi, mcol is Money Claim Online, the online small claims court you can put ur claim in with to start the court process and hopefully get your money back from ur bank should it get that far. As for the statements i recieved mine in under a week but that was a few months back so not sure if its taking longer now. It can feel like a hassle but there's loads of info on here to help and its definately worth it if you get back even some of what's been taken from you. Good luck!:o

    Hi Juliebro,
    MCOL - money claim on line
    it's the small claims courts web site where you will need to go when they don't pay up.
    I got all 6 yrs worth of statements from Natwest in just over a week, back in Feb, after goung through them all, i wrote to them asking for my money back, as i expected, i had to take them to court, they filed their acknowledgment on the 12th April by their solicitor, now waiting for the questionair pack from the courts,
    Don't let anything put you off, it's you money
    Go for it & good luck.
    you will find lots of tips & advise on these forums, check them out if you need any advise, or ask a question, someone will always help you.

    I thought I've been quite patient when Natwest sent me a letter on the 12th March requesting I wait 21 days for an offer. I phone them up today (21 days over tomorrow) and now they said that it could take up to 56 days now!!

    Oh heck, so now I'm going to have to wait until the end of the month so that I can open a case with MCOL.

    MCOL = MoneyClaim OnLine

    It seems that the statements may even come through to you in batches but if you haven't received anything from them within 40 days you should take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsmen Service and they will approach the bank for you. You could always give the bank a call on 0800 015 4212 as this is their Customer Relations Department.

    Stick with it though lots of people have received their money back, me included.

    Hope this helps

  • If I've put this question in the wrong place I am really sorry but keep getting a bit lost on the site!!

    I'm still unsure of what to do next - can someone give me some advice please? I sent my letters to Nat West asking for my charges back, then chasing them and eventually threatening court action but I did not send them by registered/recorded delivery - should I resend or just assume they have had my letters and are just ignoring them? My boyfriend and I are going to scrape together the money for the court fees so that we can take Natwest to court.

    Please can someone advise as to which Natwest address I'm supposed to use when I complete the form on MCOL?
