Sounds like your offer has been 'forgotten'. Continue with the process until you do actually get a refund.0 -
Hi, I rang 0800 0154212, press option 1, good luck
Well today's the day for MCOL. I decided to ring Natwest Customer Relations today to give them one last chance. Rang the above number, then pressed Option 1, and spoke to a helpful operator. The same story again, that the offer letter 'is in the post', but wouldn't confirm the exact amount of the offer. She said she was certain I'd get the offer letter this week - but I've heard that one about 10 days ago. She said Natwest are 'totally deluged' with claims. Awwwww :rotfl:
I rang back a bit later, pressing option 1 and then option 1 again to get through to the Dept who are dealing with specific claims. That was 30 mins ago - and I'm still holding on!!
I really don't want the faff of doing MCOL, but it's looking very much like that I'll be filing my claim later on today.

Edited to add: Finally got to speak to someone. He said that Natwest had written to me on 16th March to acknowledge my claim - I pointed out that I'd never received that.
He also said that they 'would' (notice - not 'had') be sending out an offer letter for the FULL amount (yay !!!) of my charges claimed, but that it could take up to 56 days to reach me, dating back to 29th March (don't know where he pulled that date from). Anyway, 56 days from 29th March takes me up to the end of MAY - and thats going on calendar days, not working days - in which case it could be June before I got the offer letter !!!!!
OK - thats decided me. I'm doing my MCOL claim today. As everyone else says, it's not up to the banks to set the agenda/timescales for refunding our money!! Actually, the more I think about the 'it could take up to 56 days before you get the offer letter', the madder I am  I shall take great pleasure in claiming back interest charges, which amount to almost £300. And my court fees, of course.0 -
Same here! I called them this morning in the hope that they had at least made an offer but nooo nothing. They again stated in a rude manner that they have loads of work on and my claim was not high on the list and would be a while yet before i even received an offer! I informed the lady that i was not willing to wait any longer and would be filing with the courts, she informed me that this would make it even longer before i got my money. She said i should hold tight and i would get an offer before the end of June (was may last week) and the money would be in my account by the summer at least!
Ive decided its not good enough im filing today, its my money they have and i want it back the full amount plus the interest. They were quick enough to do it to me when i was a new mother and begged with them for some leway so lets see how they bloody like it!0 -

Good for you - and good luck !! :T
Same here also - I can remember that very rough couple of months when they piled on around £470 in charges, and wouldn't budge an inch on the charges. I seem to recall saying at the time, that their charges were extortionate for going a bit overdrawn, but was told it was perfectly above board, and that it was my fault. I just can't forget the stress they put me under.
I'm going for gold (and not Advantage Gold) :rotfl:0 -
Score!!! :j :j :j :j
I'm only at the beginning in this journey but earlier on in this thread I moaned about getting charged £5 for the request of my back statements. I was told that most people get charged £10 so should see it as a good thing.
As the £5 charge was never mentioned I asked them to refund it, and was told they would do so. Anyway checked my account today and they credited it with £10.
£5 up already, starting as I mean to go on :T :T  :T :T0 -
hi everyone well i called 0800 015 4212 option 1 then option 1 again for the department dealing with charges and i was told yes they recieved my first letter dated 29/ 0 /07 and an offer will be made by post again they cant tell me how much the offer maybe!!! but it will be 56 days after 10 april, 10 april dont know why???
also i asked will you be sending a cheque? and he replied "your account is shown as open so it will usually be credited into that account" and i said well i froze the account months ago so i wouldnt be able to draw out the money and he just kept saying well its showing as open here so you need to talk to your branch!!! how can i get round this as its a joint account and overdraft still needs to be paid, we can pay in but not draw out !!!:mad:0 -

Hiya - not sure what's involved in freezing an account, or what that means. But, if you've got an overdraft, I think they might be within their rights to refund money into your account? I'm sure someone with more knowledge about this will come along and advise.
Good luck,

Seem to be in the group that have been completely ignored by Natwest. Had statements for what i needed, so went straight to the letter sending stage. Surprise surprise, no response, sent 14 day demand or court action letter 13 days ago. Guess what...........................Not a dicky bird, nada. As silent as they were when the took the money from us. Do i pick up the phone and call? or just head for the MCOL site ?
From reading all your posts, sounds like calling is a waste of time?:rotfl: Finances going the RIGHT way at last!!:T
Thanks to the inspirational :money: :beer:0 -

I'd be tempted to just go for MCOL. From what I'm reading on this thread, if you ring up they are likely to say you may have to wait up to 56 days to get an offer letter (that's what they said to me) - that's assuming it even materialises. They allegedly acknowledged my first claim letter, but I never received that. I'm wasting no more time either talking to them or being patient - am in the process of doing my MCOL claim. As they've now said verbally they will be offering me a full refund of my charges, I doubt they'll even be bothered to contest my claim - in which case I'll also get interest charges back.
Good luck!

hi all, i'm yet another one that's heard nothing from Natwest since my first letter reqesting a refund at the beginning of March, for over £3000. I put my MCOL claim in today so just hope its the beginning of the end. Find it frustrating reading through other threads and seeing that some people got their money back from Natwest after first letter, and others have gone all the way through the process. Just hope it doesn't take too much longer, got a baby on the way and would love itto be sorted before it arrives.0
