Hi, just wondering if anyone can tell me if they have had any success with NatWest reclaiming charges. I have a "parachute" account, but would rather Natwest didn't close my account as I have a loan with them too and get a better deal as a customer. So, if anyone has successfully reclaimed their cash from Natwest I would love to know!

    Thanks

Hiya - lots of success stories here - you'll find plenty of Natwest ones!!

  • Hi,

Can anyone help me? Natwest have hammered me with charges over the last year totalling over £2500, you name it I've been charged for it, I've had a parachute account since October and now my natwest account is seriously overdrawn, they are threatening court action to recover this, I've managed to stall them until the beginning of May whilst I get together details of the charges for the last six years to claim myself. Nearly there just a few missing statements BUT where do I send my claim to? Only address I have is my branch but will they just ignore it? Awful how they treat their customers isnt it? Thiefs normally get a jail sentence.
  • hi im currently reclaiming £795, i followed the steps got my statements highlighted the charges and asked for them to be refunded.
I sent this march the 2nd. After 21 days awaiting a reply i rang them they told me a letter had been sent out on the 12th to notify me of the claim. i have received no letter, i then rang them again and they said i have to wait 8 weeks for a response. They assured me to the this letter will bean offer.
Should i have to wait 8 weeks for a letter of my bank?
    Is this legal?
IS there any way of hurrying them up?
    All responses and advice welcome.
The bank i am with is natwest and i have a student/ graduate account.

    LETTER BEFORE ACTION

RE: Bank Charges to accounts **********

    Dear Madame

I refer to default charges applied to the two accounts above of ****** plus statutory interest of ******amounting to ******, which I have requested you refund in full. Despite your recent correspondence suggesting I follow your complaints procedure I am yet to receive a satisfactory response to my letter dated ******** 2007 requesting settlement of my claim within 14 days.

I am therefore writing to advise you of my intention to claim the full amount together with interest up to the date of judgement plus court fees incurred during the proceedings through the county court.

This claim is based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these charges are unfair and not proportionate to your actual costs, and therefore the court will rule in my favour. I have enclosed a full schedule of the charges and the interest I intend to claim.

I look forward to a settlement in full within 7 days of receipt of this letter, otherwise I will commence court proceedings without delay to reclaim the funds I am owed.

    Yours faithfully
