I reclaimed my bank charges from NatWest and about 17 days ago I returned the letter to Boreham Wood accepting their offer.

Trying to contact them to find out when they will be coughing up is a complete nightmare!

Tried last week - got some snotty fella saying you'll just have to wait - if you're not happy then take it to the small claims!

Tried incessantly today and the numbers engaged - I realise I am not the only one in this position but wonder if anyone can help with a bit of advice as to what to do next!!

Sounds like they're stringing it out, as you say, fairly common.

I would take the 'snotty fella's' advice and take it to the Small Claims if they don't pay up within a few days.

personally I'd proceed to court if they are messing you around with the payment. Especially if quite a bit of time has passed since the acceptance.

    Hi guys

Just received defence and 'request for further information' forms from Natwest/Cobbetts (on the FINAL day before I would have been able to enter judgement  )

Can someone please point me in the direction of a post that tells me what to do next? I've been reading through the board but cant seem to find anything.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Anybody?

Do I just wait for the allocation questionnaire from the court or do I need to provide Cobbetts with full details of my claim (again)?

    Thanks!

Not sure I'm afraid, but as you will have to give them the information again anyway I would have thought you could just print off what you have already sent to Natwest.

    Hope this helps

Hi all , I'm also claiming from natwest , had an offer for full amount , which we've accepted , just waiting for it to go into account now. fyi i must say i've had the best responses by emailing them , had a reply to each email within about 3 hours , and evrything they've stated in emails , ie , when offer letter sent, amount offered etc has been spot on.
still dont like 'em tho lol.

  • Hi, just wondering if anyone can tell me if they have had any success with NatWest reclaiming charges. I have a "parachute" account, but would rather Natwest didn't close my account as I have a loan with them too and get a better deal as a customer. So, if anyone has successfully reclaimed their cash from Natwest I would love to know!

    Thanks

Well i rec'd another letter from Natwest yesterday after i declined their offer of £76 against a claim of £294.97. This time they offered me £80.56 stating:
"having reviewed your case and as a gesture of goodwill and without admission of liability or error, we are prepared to offer the amount of £80.56 paid direct to your account. This figure represents a refund of the difference between our original £20, £18 and £15 and the cirrent £12 late payment charge and includes an associated interest."
I already told them in the first letter that i declined, that i will not accept such a low offer and any funds must be paid direct to me and not into my acct. They obviously do not listen. I am not accepting 25.86% so they certainly can't tempt me with a huge 27.3%.
The stupid thing is, they only have until Thursday when the 28 days will expire for the small claim i have started, so i will win by default unless they send me a cheque for the full sum anyway!!
