I wouldn't believe anything natwest tell you because from start to finish it took me four months I was offered half the amount back after starting mcol , so I rang them and told it's to late Ive started mcol sent them a letter to confirm I was willing to go all the way. Then sat back waited for the qa and cobbetts qa two months later a FULL REFUND.

So dont be scared at all it's just a matter of time hold out you will win in the end.:T

Hi all , I'm also claiming from natwest , had an offer for full amount , which we've accepted , just waiting for it to go into account now. fyi i must say i've had the best responses by emailing them , had a reply to each email within about 3 hours , and evrything they've stated in emails , ie , when offer letter sent, amount offered etc has been spot on.
still dont like 'em tho lol.

    WOOT!!!!!!

For those who have read previous posts of mine regarding my charge claim to NatWest and the farce that ensued following the original 2nd Janruary claim letter.

I referred the case the FOS and within a week of the Ombudsman taking up my complaint, I am happy to report that I have received an offer of the full amount (On an estimated claim!), which, I have accepted.

For those whose claims have been a debarcle from the word go and want action to be taken without the need for court, I seriously recommend the Financial Ombudsman! Quick and easy to refer the complaint to and no further money needs to be spent by yourselves on court bills etc etc!

    Tony

Happy to finally be debt free for the first time... ever :)

Hiya, I don't know the answer to that, sorry. Try asking on the main "reclaiming bank charges" help thread, you get a lot more people on that one, I don't know the link but if you click on "loans & banking" on the left of this screen, it should be the 1st on the list Good luck, sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Last month i forgot to pay my credit card, a balance of £4.91. I had left my statements at uni and by the time i checked my online banking, the payment date has passed, i paid straight away then but the payment takes 4 days to transfer (from natwest debit card to natwest credit card - does it actually take that long?).

This is the first time i have ever had a bank/credit card charge, they charged my £12 for paying late, payment went through on the 4th of April, i sent the payments on the 30th of March (payment should be made by the 28th). They charged me the late payment fee on the 2nd. I incurred £0.02 interest on the 3rd.

Is there any way that i can ring them up and complain about this? Has anyone been refunded from just a phonecall? Should i ask to speak to someone in particular?
  • Hello,

I reclaimed my bank charges from NatWest and about 17 days ago I returned the letter to Boreham Wood accepting their offer.

Trying to contact them to find out when they will be coughing up is a complete nightmare!

Tried last week - got some snotty fella saying you'll just have to wait - if you're not happy then take it to the small claims!

Tried incessantly today and the numbers engaged - I realise I am not the only one in this position but wonder if anyone can help with a bit of advice as to what to do next!!

    Thanks

    Julie
