So rang local branch, they said they just open letters and then forward them on to head office, they do nothing else with them, so i have got a 3rd number to ring now which is for the 24 hour help line, and the lady at my local branch said to ring the 24 hour line and they may be able to give me another number to help me...
Can anyne shorten this wild goose chase for me???
I rang 0800 0154212, think I pressed option 1 then 1 again for complaints. Try that & see how you get on0 -
Thanks yet again for taking time out to get this info. I will wade thru' it tonight. Today was their 14th so I am reluctantly doing the LBA letter now though I think they have been warned enough!! Will be in touch with results.
sorry I couldn't help more, hope you get the answers you are looking for0 -
Sent my first claim letter Tuesday by recorded delivery which is showing as having reached them on the Royal Mail web site. So the point of no return has been reached and feeling a little nervous regarding account closure credit rating etc. Not helped by having to visit my local branch, half expect to lynched by staff when they got my account details on the system, especially when the cashier asked if I had a moment after the transaction was complete. However rather than keeping me in position while their sniper took aim, she asked if I wanted to upgrade my account/ add a credit card ( I can't remember exactly what she said ) does this mean I'm currently considered a good customer and at a lesser risk of having my account closed?
Also my OD is up for review in the not to distant future do they tend to come down harder on you regarding this if you've claimed/ have a claim in progress (withdraw the facility)?0 -

From what I've read on here, Natwest don't generally close accounts as a rule & I doubt they are able to put it on your credit ref files.
Being asked to upgrade your account is standard, it happened to me last time I went in my branch before I started claiming.
I want to cut my overdraft down when I get this money so I hope they don't cancel it altogether, I doubt they will.
Motto.....never say never though!0 -

Just to let some of you know that NatWest are paying up. Despite NatWest not sending me all my statements I sent my first letter 5 March, I then phoned them last week on the 30th as I'd still received no response, they said phone back next week if you've still not got our offer letter and I got it this morning offering the full amount of £1000 excl the interest I'd added on.
I should have sent a 2nd letter and been ready to start court proceedings by now but have been busy so hadn't got round to it.
Good luck to the rest of you and thanks for your support.

Hi all,
Im in a bit of a dilema. Last November I started claiming back all my charges from 3 banks, Abbey, Natwest & Lloyds Tbs.
In total Natwest - £623. Abbey - £212 Lloyds TSB -£110
Im on my 3rd letter template - the one that says you ignored my last request & now filing a small claims Report to get my money back.
Natwest sent me one back saying the usual, we r sorry u have a complaint with us, as a guesture of goodwill (as they do not believe the charges am claimimg are correct) they will offer me 50% £311 by return cheque if I settle now.
Im not sure what I should do. Since I closed my account in 2003 with them, they have mucked me about and given very poor service. I am appauled that they are offering only 50% even though my father is a good friend of the Premier Head manager at the North West Head Office.
Should I just accept this offer, as I may not get another chance? Or shall I fight them all the way? The money is going to go towards my wedding in November, so would prefer £600 to £300 to pay for my cake :-), but am I just being too picky?
Any help & advice would be appreciated.0 -

It may take a little longer but if you pursue the claim, you will very likely get the whole amount.0 -
If it was me i would not accept anything less than what they took from you.Not Buying it 2015!0

Just a small word, if you get an offer letter and you decide to accept PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send it back by Special Delivery. I have lost 2 weeks waiting for it to be logged so decided to resend it - only sent it in the reply paid envelope provided last time.
I know that it has been delivered today so will call them next week to find out if they can log this one!!! I suppose that means that they have got another 14 working days to deposit the money in my account. :mad:0 -
if your father is a friend then why dont you get him to contact the manager and put a word in!!
Thwy might offer you more they might not there is a new thing called pre trial which is set months away in july so you might not be getting your money for a very very long time0
