I am at a similar stage to you except I should have started MCOL on Saturday. Most of the advice I had was to still pursue, however I like you am considering holding off MCOL in the hope I get a letter soon.

How long are you going to give them before you pursue MCOL?

    Thanks

I don't really know, I'll see how I feel, might give them a call again after the kids have gone back to school :T , then maybe a week after that, see how it goes

frugalpam & I are also at the same stage, keep us updated of how your claim is going :D

    Hi,

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so can I do anthing about this.

In some of my earlier posts I mentioned how I emailed Natwest to get my statements. I was very impressed with their quick response and said the statements were on their way.

On Checking my account today I noticed that £5 has been deducted as a charge for 'Historic Statements Request'. In their E-mails there was no mention of this charge. I have requested they refund the account but haven't heard anything back yet.

Are they allowed to do this? And if so can I include it in the amount I re-claim back?

Wouldn't of minded as much if they had informed me of the charge

I agree they could have told you they were going to deduct £5 from your account but unfortunately they are allowed to charge for the statements, I sent £10 off with my letter (as stated in Martins template letter) and they cashed it last week, so you are a fiver richer than most of us :D

Just called the complaints department and was put right through to a really nice lady who informed me there was an offer of £2451 put in the system but would take approx. 21 days for them to send it out. Will be checking back in and following up. The poor lady sounded really tired. :D

Same as a lot of us on here, hope we all keep the rest of us updated & see who gets their money! :T

    the race is on haha:D

Just to give you an indication on how long you'll be waiting. I sent my LBA on 22nd Feb and finally recieved my offer letter on Monday!! So about 6 weeks in total! I did speak to CS for updates and held off MCOL as they told me the exact amount I should expect in my offer letter.

    But........

I sent off my offer on Monday, in the pre paid envelope provided but as I was paranoid about it being lost in the post I paid 70p for it to be signed for.
It tracked on the royal mail website so I rang up CS again to find out when I should expect the money in my account.

Up to 14 working days!!

Thats another 3 weeks, I'll have to wait

Just thought I'd let you know in case you were banking on having the money anytime this month.
If you like it, do it.

Yeah fair play, would've been nice of them to have let me know though!!

Still waiting on statements so looking forward to the journey;)

Thanks for that, seems to be the same from what I have read from everything on here, and will still continue to follow the timeline set out, only just sent the 14 day letter a few days ago and with easter holidays here I imagine that's making the postal serice a bit unreliable as well. Good luck and let us know when the money goes in the bank! :D

Thanks for that, that was really helpful :T I was pondering on wether or not to ask if anyone had held off MCOL & actually got their offer letter & cash in the bank after having a verbal offer. I don't mind waiting a while because I've waited up to 6 years from the 1st charge so a matter of weeks/couple of months cant hurt......not waiting forever though ;)

Can you let us know if/when you get your money? just wondering on the final outcome & what the banks timescales really are

Wonder why they wouldn't confirm my offer amount, when I rang? The woman I spoke to said she wasn't allowed to give out that information
As for yours sounding tired...... not half as tired as I am with Natwest :rotfl:
    I've no sympathy for them!

Oh Martins calculator on here is a wonderful thing, I added up the charges keeping the total hidden at the bottom, when I'd finished I uncovered the total.....WOW......£4,***.** made my day!

Have fun, I know I did :rotfl:
