Ta to all
So far, without interest it works out to a lovely £1771. Now to have a poke about and see how this claiming interest malarkey works.
Thanks again!0 -
My first letter was sent to Nat West 8th Jan 07 requesting nearly £8k, I received a reply from them on 19th Jan asking me to bear with them as they werre investigating my case, I waited until 13th Feb before writing again, as they never replied I went to the Moneyclaim Online court on 27th Feb, paid my fees and waited.
Nat West have now decided to fight this case and have filed a defence , and there Solicitors sent me a copy yesterday, its full of legal jargon, I am now out of my debth what can I do??
Will I receive and forms from the court to fill in showing the amounts of charges I am claiming for??0 -

The process should still go ahead. Having read some people's battles, it's not uncommon for NatWest to enter a defence, especially for larger amounts. Have a look through some people's stories - they've often had cheques drop through their doors on the last day. That said, no one guarantee that it will happen in your case.
The thing is that the banks don't want to pay out, so they'll try scare tactics to get you to drop it. It's just down to whether or not you can hold your nerve...0 -
Has anyone else had problems with Natwest not providing all the statements requested? Mine arrived today with 6 months missing...0

The step 4, 14 days are up tomorrow & I very much doubt I will receive an offer letter so thought I'd make a start with MCOL...
What address is every one putting for Natwest - their local branch, Borehamwood or the London address?
Thanks in advance x
Can anyone shed any light please? As expected nothing in post, so MCOL here I come!0 -

This should help! http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=4009810 -
Hiya Pam, can you give me the number you rang please? I might have a go and see where it gets me
probably nowhere as usual :rotfl:
Hiya - I rang the Customer Relations Unit on 08000154212.
The Advisor was extremely pleasant and assured me an offer letter would be sent out by week comm 16th April, but until my refunded charges are in my account, I'll keep on with the claiming process, and go on to the MCOL stage if necessary!

Hi not sure if doing this right, this is first time of posting.
Sent for my statement on the 14th March, this morning I've received statement from March 2001 to Sep 2002. Is this normal as anyone else received them like this in batches, and do you think more will be coming or do I need to ring them.
Also been looking through them and when it says Unarr Borrowing Fee, underneath there is sometimes a small amount which says interest, do I add this on.

I sent off my request for six year of backdated statements on 20th Feb and they quickly sent me statements from 1st June 2001 onwards. Give them a call and request the missing pages, after all you have paid for them and they are legal required to produce them. Personally I was under the impression that for the missing period my personal finances were good and there wouldn't have been many if any charges so I just went ahead with what I had. After all getting the majority of statements too you quickly then making you wait a long period for missing pages serves as a decent delaying tactic to slow up claims or make you think better of pursuing a claim (not that I in any way cynical regarding Natwests tactics).0 -

Hiya, you can't add the interest on a normal overdraft (i think I read somewhere that if the BANK charges took you overdrawn then you can add the interest) hope this helps & good luck.
If I'm not correct someone will be along to tell me off0
