I wrote my first letter requesting my charges back which was received on 8 March by the bank according to the Track and Trace website.

I phoned about another charge that was put on 3 weeks ago and they told me that an offer had been made. I thought I would wait and see what happens, but I have not so much as even had an acknowledgement apart from the woman telling me on the phone. My second letter, threatening court in 14 days is being sent off today. I am not waiting any longer for them....they've had their chance. Come the 15th day, I shall be visiting MCOL!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Natwest sent me the six years of statements in two sets. THe first claim for four years of charges have now gone to court. Natwest have put their defense in and I have put in my allocation questionaire.

Today I have another letter from natwest stating they are dissapointed that i have not been able to show reasonable grounds for the claim.

THEY PAID THE 2ND CLAIM!!! just the other week.

BUT GOOD NEWS ALL. App District Judge Murdoch Has Ruled that the courts are not to bother sending out anymore allocation questionaires as he is fed up with these now and that the banks are not bothering to attend any court dates anyhow!

So app i should get a court date , but a backlog means this could be another 4 weeks!

But i wont give up so there Natwest!!!!!

  • Hi

I have posted my second letter to Natwest with reference to legal action if they do not reply in 14 etc, i still have not recieved any feed back from both the letters i sent to them! Please can you advise me on what i should do next! I have opened my a new bank account and have moved over all my direct debits etc! Just unsure what to do, should i contact natwest again?
  • Sent off for my statements on the 20th of Feb they arrived a few days later in badly damaged envelope, lots of duplicated pages, pages slightly out of order and the first couple of months missing. Rather than chase them for the missing pages from a period were I remember working full time rather than attending university (which is when most of my charges date from) and hence not as likely to be on the wrong end of their charges decided to just go forward with what I had. Sent my letter claiming charges plus interest off today. Comes to a total of over £2700, its amazing how much they've taken from me over the last 5 1/2 years, especially when you're lead to believe that charging students is the last thing they want to do, in the hope you become loyal customers once the (mega?)graduate wages start rolling in.Hopefully if it comes to negotiations their failure to send the full six years might give me a bit of leverage. Just thought I’d sign in, so as to report back as the process goes on.

It might not hurt just to give them a quick ring to see how it is going...if you are feeling brave enough....I really have to psyche myself up to do that!

Has it gone past the 14 days for your second letter?

I got a letter telling me they will refund £950 which was more then I asked for, So I signed the letter and returned it now I'm just waiting for the payment, I'm just wondering how long does it take for the payment an is it returned to the account.

    Hi,
The same thing happened to me I gave them a month and not even an acknowledgement so I phoned them on 19th March and they told me that an offer letter would be going out for the full amount of my claim by the end of the month, I thought this was a delaying tactic and didn't believe them so filed at MCOL the same day, by the end of the week I had the offer letter so duly returned the signed form and now 10 days later they are still telling me that they may not have received it. I kept the MCOL going just in case as I didn't have the money and am going to continue along that route until the money is in my account. They told my husband exactly the same thing and he didn't get a letter so filed MCOL yesterday.
It may be worth giving them a ring and I have spoken to some nice people there, tell them that you have had no response from them and you may get an offer letter sooner.

The step 4, 14 days are up tomorrow & I very much doubt I will receive an offer letter so thought I'd make a start with MCOL...

What address is every one putting for Natwest - their local branch, Borehamwood or the London address?

    Thanks in advance x
