Hi I started MCOL on Monday 19th March and an offer letter arrived on Friday 23rd for full amount minus interest which of course I signed and returned :T , there is still no sign of the money in my account and received letter from courts telling me that they are going to defend claim:eek: . Is this going to delay payment? I did accept their offer. I really don't want this to go on much longer so would love to get this settled.
Has anyone else been in this situation.0 -
Hi,
Just a quickie. After sending two letters to the Natwest, I filed a claim on MCOL on the 28th. They have not responded yet, I suppose it's a little early yet but this morning I had a letter offering me the amount I had asked for in my first letters. Their letter is dated the same date that I filed my claim so as yet they do not know of my further action.
Do I just ignore this letter which has an enclosed sheet for me to sign and return if I accept, do I write to them stating that I have made a formal claim etc.
In my original letters I claimed just the charges but after no replies, when I filed my Money Claim I have added the charges. Therefore if I hold out I will actually get another couple of hundred. But I'm worried about this letter that arrived this morning.
Any advice is very appreciated.

The same thing has happened to me and when I called this morning, 10 days after sending my reply, they told me that it has not been logged that they have received it. I have kept my claim going as I have not got the money yet, if and when I receive it I will stop the claim, if I don't get the money then it will go all the way and hopefully I will get my £250 costs and the interest back.
This is scarry stuff isn't it:o0 -

I think I remember reading that once the claim has started - even if they send you an offer letter direct it doesn't count anymore and you have to continue wit the claim. Especially if they are defending it0 -
Quote from SUFC, hope I'm ok to paste it on here, if not, sorry xx
I was sent this on email. I think in the current climate we should all adopt this procedure. P*** the banks off even more!!!

A 98 year old woman wrote this to her bank. The bank manager thought it
amusing enough to have it published in the Times.
Dear Sir,
I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to
pay my plumber last month.........................
Sorry to disappoint but the letter is made up. I've seen similar ones before0 -

I rang Customer Relations on 08000154212. Choose option one for COMPLAINTS.....good luck!
I will be trying again later too!0 -
I know what you mean, it's a daunting thought this MCOL thing, I'd rather avoid it if I can due to funds (or the lack of them) at the moment, I've got a lot to pay out, but if it means having to struggle like I have in the past then so be it, hopefully it'll work out in the end.
I've got a funny feeling we are both going to post "seen the signature online at Royal Mail" tomorrow :j hehehe
..just checked! Letter was delivered today, and the 'electronic proof of delivery' (ie signature) will be available in 24 hours. Whoo hoo !! :rotfl:
