I sent my previous letter to my branch, and think that I'll need to send this next letter to my branch also.
I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that, if the court ordered the bank to pay up and they defaulted, we could bring in the bailiffs, so it was an idea to use your local branch incase you wanted to see it in action !!
Anyway, I'm sure someone will come along and advise us.
Good luck with your next letter - and hope we both avoid having to actually file a court claim.

    Pam

Thanks Pam, good luck to you too. I'm getting nervously excited  :j .....if you know what I mean :D

    Hello everyone

You'd never believe what natwest has done to me!! After 2 phone calls and still not receiving my full 6 years statements, they have sent me some poor gentleman's statements for 2001 to 2002!!

Surely this is a hugh breech of customer confidentiality!! Any ideas of what I can do next....still need 3 more years statements.....

    Cheers

If you read and follow the instructions carefully, you should be able to claim the money back.

Don't be too concerned about what NatWest's policy is on this matter. They will just say you're entitled to nothing. Ignore them and follow the procedure to the letter. Do not be put off and do not deviate from what you've said you'll do.

 I'd write to the gent who's statements you got & let him know for a start, surley his address is on them? & I'd definitely report the bank!!!!!!!!!
  • We are just about to start the process on a closed joint account.
    I have a question (I am sure this is answered somewhere, but I have looked & can't find it - It's a very long thread:o ):

When sending a request for statements to Natwest, wh should the cheque be made payable to?
I don't want to give them any unnecessary chances to drag their feet;)

    Cheers

Hi, I made my cheque payable to NatWest for £10, got my statements a while ago but they only cashed the cheque yesterday, so, if you are low on funds in your account, make sure you always keep £10 in credit incase they debit your account a long time after & you incur further charges.

Hope this helps & the best of luck to you with your claim

The 14 days are up on Wed before I start MCOL, so thought I'd give them a call to chase, after hearing nothing from the 3 letters I sent recorded....

The girl at Customer Relations relayed they have no correspondence from me at all & due to them being inundated with these claims, they have a 7 week delay on bank statements & a 2 week delay on claims. Oh & apparently, all claims are now being sent to their Head Office in Scotland  sounds like another line to me

I explained they had until Wednesday before court proceedings start & she said well call us back then, if you still haven't heard anything & we'll take it from there :undecided

Anyone else heard about this forwarding to Scotland?

If they are saying they haven't rceived anything from you, have you checked on the Royal Mail website to see if they were signed for?

Personally I would just go to court stage - then they have to reply. I don't believe a word the banks say anymore and if you wait for them to get in touch with you you could be waiting forever
  • Just some general things to help some of you;

If you've sent them letters unrecorded, check with them if there is anything about bank charges on your notes. If so you don't have to worry.

I was about to pull the trigger with MCOL (online court action), gave them a call and they told me an offer will be sent within 21 days, which I should be "very" happy with. This needed to be validated first, but did not include interest. Natwest also said that they have to reply within 8 weeks of complaints sent according to OFT rules.
  • Hi

I'm new to this but I've been trying since Feb to get over £1k back from Natwest. Their call centre will confirm an offer is to be made, but the letter never arrives - this has been the case for 8 weeks now and all they do when I call is tell me to wait another week.

Does anyone have any similar experiences or any idea about what I should do?
