Sent another letter asking for statements as 40 days is up....getting ready to report them if they don't reply this week

Now had a reply from them firstly saying we need £5 proof of name and address before we release this information as it is a closed account and then further in the letter it says unfortunately we cannot find details of this account
  • NatWest are trying to fob me off and have just spoken to about 4 call centres regarding my claim for charges and also been given the number for Powergen in a vain attempt to get rid of me!!!!

The 14 days I stated on the letter I sent to them has passed today and NatWest are saying that they received my letter on the 21st - even though I sent it recorded on 15th March and they signed for it on the 17th!!!! When I told them this they "checked the "system" again and said that they had received the letter internally (to the correct department) on 21st March and that it will take up to 21 days for me to receive the offer letter, although they did say that one had already been written and that I should receive it soon.

What should I do? Send off the third letter template and demand a response or I'll set up legal proceedings or just wait for this letter to arrive?

I have been messed around something rotten for the past hour and had had a right belly full of NatWest!!!

If anyone could offer any advice or comments then I would be most grateful.

    Cheers - James (Trussmaster)

P.S My claim is for £158. If you need any other info please just ask!! Ta ;)

dont bother ringing or sending another letter, make a legal claim today, it will cost you about £30quid, and they will prob settle straight away cos the amount is low.

A few of you may have read my posts regarding my painful experience with NatWest. I fail to see what I am doing wrong here other than trying to play ball with them and giving them every oppertunity to save themselves the 8% interest on court proceedings plus my credit card charges!

    Anyway...

I phoned NatWest again this morning to get an update on my claim (dated 2nd Januray 2007). The last I heard was that they had "lost" my statements again. This morning, the story again has changed...

NatWest no longer have ANY record of my claim! Then the agent uttered the immortal words "The best thign to do is resend your statements and resubmit your claim"... AGAIN!

Do you currently have all you statements?

If you have already sent letters to them requesting money back and they are messing around just go to the court stage

The problem is that they originally sent me an incomplete batch of statements 3 times (I ended up getting just 50 Months). So not wanting to waste anymore time I submitted an estimated claim. All well and good. They then told me that I needed to resubmit it and sent me out another batch (incomplete again) of statements, although they were incomplete they covered a different period to that of my original statements which have been highlighted and sent back as per their requestm, since that time I have been told that they have lost my statements and I need to resend my highlighted list of charges again. Which, due to being an estimated claim and the statements covering a different period, would in all probability work out as a different figure be it more or less.

I am keen to keep this out of court at this point purely becuase I have just moved house and we our pockets are tight enough as it is without having to find £250 to cover my claim (My charges reach over 5k with the 8% stautory interest)

I have logged a complaint with the FSO for this but they have advised me it will be another week before they can process this due the number of complaints they have received.

In all likelyhood I will end up at MCOL, but I simply can't just yet, plus, this claim is a complete mess now with estimates and missing statements etc etc, but after 3 months of waiting I am loathe to start again!
  • Hi can anyone help me?

I'm about to send in 2nd letter after having no reply to the first letter I sent requesting charges back. I made a couple of oversights when adding up charges ie:
got a couple of the dates wrong when taking the Adv Gold fee from the unautherised borrowing fee - took off £10 when it sould have been £9, then calculated interest.

Didn't include the reasons for the charges on the list I sent back. ( i've gone back over it n added & changed that now)

Included charges for Jan & feb 2001, which totals £100

I asked this on discussion board and Edinburghlass advised me that i can change the amount right upto court.

What I need to help with is how to word the letter detailing why i have made changes to the charge details...also if I should do that now, or keep it consistent n let the bank point out any discrepencies to me?

Please help me if you can, because I really dont wanna post this next letter off until I'm sure what to do next.

Any ideas on which way to progress would be really appreciated. I'm actually getting the fear big time now n have even toyed with the idea of dropping the whole thing to preserve my sanity. It's on my mind bigtime, Natwest dont seem to be bothering to even acknowledge my claim. ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH!
