I would really appreciate some advice please.
I received my statements off Natwest in good time, totalled up charges which came to £520.
I sent the letter off requesting charges back plus interest of £96. I sent this letter to my local branch via recorded delivery on 27-02-07.
This was signed for on 28-02-07.
Last week, 23-3-07 I phoned NatWest customer services to see what was happening and they said I should receive a letter by the end of this month.
Should I just send the next letter threatening court action? If I send this letter, do I have to put a copy of all charges I am claiming in with it bearing in mind I have already sent them once?
Any help really appreciated
Thanks
From what I've been reading, the advice seems to be to keep to the timescales, so I'd send them the next letter threatening court action if they don't respond in 7 days.
I'm sure others will be along to give you the advice you need - I'm about to send Natwest the same letter (they've about 3 days left to respond to the letter requesting charges refunded)

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. Requested my statements from Natwest on 05/03/07 using the template and sent cheque for £10 and recieved them today (27/03/07)Just been wading through them. Can't believe they total £1927.49 with interest on! Sending letter to Natwest Customer Relations. (The address is on Natwest's website) Gonna send it recorded delivery even though it's a freepost address. Made a table of the exact details of each charge. Took me all morning but I wanted to make it comprehensive. So now just waiting to see what happens next, I'll keep you posted.......0

Hi everyone,
I am just after some advice, I sent my 1st letter and the bank responded by sending all my bank statements, After working out the charges nearly (2k) I sent 2nd letter requesting all my charges back without interest on the 7th March I haven’t heard anything back from the bank at all. I am now going to send my third letter advising I am going to take them to court. If i don’t here anything back from this letter what do I do then? and what if they haven’t even received my 2nd letter ?
I know i can go on line and start the court thing am i right in thing if the dont respond within 14 days i win without having to go to court ?0 -
Call them on 08000154212. They can tell you when your letters were received and what is happening.0

Did you send letters by recorded delivery? I did that today and it only costs 68p. Worth doing as you can track online who signed for it. They can't give you the runaround as easily then!0

A quick update and request for more advice (sorry)
I phoned the Customer services again today. After some delay the guy asked me how much I had requested, I told him £520 plus interest. He then said a letter would be sent out within the next 2 weeks offering me the full £520.
This would be a great outcome but I am still a little sceptical. Why would he have to ask me how much I had requested to tell me how much they had offered, surely it would be on screen?
Anyway, my main question is, should I wait and give them time to send the offer letter? Or should I send the letter threatening court?
Thanks to those who have advised so far
