    Hello everyone

You'd never believe what natwest has done to me!! After 2 phone calls and still not receiving my full 6 years statements, they have sent me some poor gentleman's statements for 2001 to 2002!!

Surely this is a hugh breech of customer confidentiality!! Any ideas of what I can do next....still need 3 more years statements.....

    Cheers

I had exactly the same problem at the beginning of the month. I sent my SAR through and duly received someone elses statements in a torn envelope. The personal details could be seen from the outside too. The name and address on the front were supposed to be mine however the spelt my name totally wrong making in another surname entirely:mad:

I took it up with the branch and was then sent two copies of my statements. Lucky for me the lady in branch i dealt with was more than helpful. When i rang the contact centre they said there was no request for my statements. I told them it was funny they had my details on a random persons desk after closing my account two years ago...oh and you cashed the cheque for £10 too;)

I have now just rang as my 14 days are up on Monday, you guessed it-no trace of the letter..i have just been aske to send it again (so they can lose it no doubt)..i will send it again, with the next letter giving them the final 14 days.:D

Natwest...im glad I left you, you incompetent twits....now pay what you owe me:p

I started my claim with Natwest on 26th Feb and they have basically ignored me!!! I have sent 2 further letters, the last one threatening court action and still no response.

I know from others they have had success in a relatively short space of time. Juts my luck I guess, but I'm not gonna give up.
  • Thanks,

Im just fed up with them now.
I have an overdraft as well will this make any difference?

  • I am about to ring Natwest up and ask them for my money back. They've charged me 4 times in the past 2 years. I reckon it might be worth a go asking them to refund it before I go through all this messing. I'll let you know how it goes. maybe bare faced cheek and being polite will win the day? Hmmm, probably not! lol.

Thanks Pam, good luck to you too. I'm getting nervously excited  :j .....if you know what I mean :D

Yep - I know just what you mean !!
Ive decided to send my letter threatening court action to my branch, which is where I sent the letter asking for my charges to be refunded, and give them 14 days to respond before starting court action.
It's sounding like the banks are totally deluged and are prob farming out these complaint letters to other depts (someone mentioned Scotland, in this thread). I get the feeling they're either paying up or not responding to the court threat so we win by default.
Keep me posted how you get on, and good luck!!

  • Just rang. Had one of the charges refunded (taken out on the 28th March 07), for the other three I have to write to my branch and ask them to give me them back. Not great but £38 is £38! Worth a go I suppose! :)

Long story but will try to be brief. Contacted Natwest by letter (recorded delivery to branch) re charges amounting to just over £5000 including interested on 26th Feb. Received no response, sent another copy of the same 12th March and then a threatening court action on 22nd. Had heard nothing. so thanks to some kind sole posting the Natwest Customer Relations Number 08000154212 I called them.

Just spoke to a very kind gent who advised me that an offer letter had been sent to me 3rd Mar, and surprise, surprise it had never been delivered. Anyway they had offered me £4300 and will be sending the letter to me again. I recommend to anyone who has had no response to call the number. Its worth a go and its a free phone number

    At this moment I'm a very happy little bunny.:rotfl: :rotfl: :j :j :T :T

Thanks for all the help and advise.

I have an overdraft with Natwest of £600. But now to some good news. As previously advised I had written three letters to Natwest (my branch) and had not recieved a reply. I have today at just after 5pm called Natwest Customer Relations on 08000154212 and have been told that my complaint had been looked into and an offer had been sent to me on 5th March, (my first letter was sent to them on 26th Feb).

The amount they have offered me is for all the charges but not the interest!! I am going to gladly accept. And although I haven't received their letter the turn around is very quick. So I take it back - good things can happen to folks like us. Don't loose faith and keep on their backs.

Good luck and hope this helps:rotfl:
