Chances are you will wait a lot longer than 21 days - its normally one of their delaying tactics - and I bet you won't be "Very" happy with what they offer - not many people are at the first offer.
Once the timescales are up in the letters you send them, you should also definately carry onto the next step even if this involves starting your court claim0 -
All ways stick to your time fram and dont wait for the bank
Move onto the next stage and send them a letter saying your are going to take them to court.
All this waiting is just delaying tactics. Dont stand for it0 -
Hi
Can some one tell me what I should do next, I sent my request for my statements in Jan to Mr Lyons, the letter was signed for but I've heard nothing. What should I do now?
Thanks0 -

Hi!
I sent my letter to the same place and heard nothing. Send them another letter (see below) which was originally posted by Rex_Mundi saying you will report them to the IC if they do not reply:
ACCOUNT NUMBER XXXXXXXX
I sent a letter and £10 cheque on the [insert date of first request] requesting six years of bank statements as is my right under the Data Protection Act. I have been expecting copies of my statements within the 40 days stipulated under the D.P.A. As yet I have not received any correspondence from you.
By not supplying the information I requested, you have breached my rights under the D.P.A. You leave me with no alternative that if I do not receive copies of my bank statements within the next seven days, I will forward copies of my requests to the Information Commissioner.
I look forward to your timely response.
Find enclosed a copy of my original letter.0 -
Thanks I will do that. Did work for you quickly?0

I got a reply from them after this letter...just the normal we are looking into it.
As yet I haven't had a "proper" reply from them so have reported them to the IC now who are getting in touch with them on behalf as they are just messing around.
Good luck though. Keep us updated0 -
ok I will although i'm thinking i should just go straight to the IC but I can't work out how to do it from their website0

Hi, I made my cheque payable to NatWest for £10, got my statements a while ago but they only cashed the cheque yesterday, so, if you are low on funds in your account, make sure you always keep £10 in credit incase they debit your account a long time after & you incur further charges.
Hope this helps & the best of luck to you with your claim
Thats great; thanks for your help :cool:0 -
