Yep - I know just what you mean !!
Ive decided to send my letter threatening court action to my branch, which is where I sent the letter asking for my charges to be refunded, and give them 14 days to respond before starting court action.
It's sounding like the banks are totally deluged and are prob farming out these complaint letters to other depts (someone mentioned Scotland, in this thread). I get the feeling they're either paying up or not responding to the court threat so we win by default.
Keep me posted how you get on, and good luck!!

    Good evening Matey......

Just to let you know, I sent, via recorded delivery.. my second letter threatening court ect ect today (I hand delivered the other letters). Came home from the post office with a smile on my face :D & put the copy.. very neatly.. with the others :p . I'm still nervously excited :j

It's amazing how often Natwest appear to 'lose' our letters isn't it
I think the answer is to send everything by recorded delivery and print out the confimation of delivery/being signed for on 'Track and Trace' on Royal Mail's website. They then just cannot argue they never got our letters. I've quoted the date they signed for my 'reclaiming charges' letter, and who signed for it, on my 'threatening court' letter. Ha!

if i were you id carry on regardless they dont always do as they say they will you know
i hope yours goes ok but i wouldnt trust anything they say untill i had money in my hand !

Am I falling victim to a delaying tactic - ie they tell me on the phone an offer letter has been sent and I get all exciting thinking its going to be plain sailing now.

I sent my TCA letter and the 7 days will be up tomorrow. Shall I give it a few days to see if this offer letter shows up or just plough on with MCOL.

Not such a happy bunny thinking I'm being led up the garden path.

From all I've read, stick to the timescales and deadlines set out, whatever they've said verbally. What counts is a cheque in your hand or money in your account - and if neither have materialised, press on.
They're also good at their 'the letter's in the post' line !!

I'm starting to feel a little silly now, how naive am I. I believed every word they told me.

Will take your advise and start MCOL, what harm can it do and you never know I could get the whole amount.

No, you're not naive. It's a new ball game for all of us, and let's face it, many of us actually used to trust our banks and believe what they told us. All this on charges etc has taught us all such a lot.
Good luck with MCOL - and you could well end up getting interest back as well!

I agree with Pam & jks2301 on this one, carry on regardless but don't be too disheartened, you never know, you MIGHT just get a nice LITTLE sum in the time they stated but if you file with MCOL then you will probably get a nice BIG sum in the end (fingers crossed). Best of luck to you, we can all stick together and go through the ups & downs of our latest "claiming charges back news" Keep your chin up!

The only news I have is when I rang they hadn't got my claim "as yet", they couldn't deny getting it as I hand delivered & todays was recorded post. Can't wait to see the signature online at Royal Mail :T

Oh, it's an exquisite piece of technology - signatures scanned, and posted for the world to witness (and bank charge reclaimers to be able to print out)
