I've asked this question a few times but unfortunately nobody seems to be able to answer it.

The address given for Natwest is is for reclaiming bank charges only - Natwest credit cards is an entirely different company/address apparently. I'm in the unfortunate position of not knowing what my credit card account number was (card was closed 2 years ago) so I've had to write to Natwest at this address:

    Natwest
    Correspondence
    PO Box 6050
    Southend-on-Sea
    Essex, SS99 1WL

...asking them to give me my credit card acount number. God knows if they will respond!

I had this with Natwest too - had to write to this address. Still waiting to hear back from them!

have just recieved this letter dated 16th march in response to my letter claiming charges

    dear sir
your complaint regaurding charges has been passed to me and i am sorry we have been unable to reach an agreement with you

i am sorry we have not yet been able to respond to you and would ask you to bear with us in the meantime .we are currently investigating and will respond to you within 21 days

thank you for your paitence to date

    yoursa sincerly

    stuart higley

    customer relations

i phoned customer relations on 08000154212 and after the obligatry 20 minute wait i was told that my claim was recieved on the twelth of march

i questioned the wording of the letter as in the first line it makes it seem as if i had contact before this letter and in the second line that no contact has been made

the lady checked the system and said that my claim hasnt got to the offer stage yet and i should wait the 21 days before continuing with my claim

she also asked who the letter was from and when i told her it was stuart higley she said i should definatley hand on

has anyone heard of this man and is it a good sign or is this just delaying tactics

and considering some of the posts relating to offers after court action would i be better off waiting until 21 days from when they recieved the letter

Sent request for 6 years of charges to Natwest around 4 weeks ago. Me and my friend sent the request at the same time, to the same place, and he recieved his last week. I waited for mine to arrive, and lo-and-behold yesterday I recieve an envolope with the same handwriting on the address as my friend who recieved his last week.

I, however, found myself far from happy when I noticed how thin the package was, and I opened it to find only 3 months from statements, from June-August 2002.

Is this common? Should I just sit and wait and hope that for some reason they are posting them a bit at a time?

I'm a bit stuck because I'm not sure if this is common practise, and I'm not sure who at Natwest I need to speak to to complain - the customer support I have found to be less than helpfull on previous occasions.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I have followed all of the steps as per Martin's advice, and am claiming for approx £3200, including the court cost of £120. Natwest wrote offering to settle at £2444, the total sum of the charges before interest and court costs. However, we had already taken them to court by this stage, and today was the last day by which they had to acknowledge the claim, which they have done!!! They have instructed solicitors and said that they intend to defend the full amount - has anyone please please got any advice as to what we do next? Do we just have to wait now to see what their defence is??? Or is there something that we need to do???? And is there anyone who has also gotten to this stage who can advise... Please help!!!
  • Hi.. I am at the same stage as you, have had the defence and sent back an AQ. You just need to wait for the court to send you the details and then send back the AQ and your reply to their defence by the given date..

I can't post up my reply etc as its on a different site.. but don't worry, they will try to intimidate you but rise above it...

Thanks M, didn't think they would actually instruct solicitors. The AQ - is this basically the outline of their defense? It is complicated to fill out? I am doing all of this on behalf of my boyfriend, and despite him having a law degree he keeps asking me for advice!!

    Good luck with yours!!

    Hi

Could anyone tell me if i am able to issue a court summons via the internet.
  • the AQ is an Allocation Questionare that the judge decides which track your claim should go down.. yours is under 5k so will go small claims.. Its quite simple to be honest..
