Not sure if anyone else has found this but Natwest say that although some offer letters may have been sent out in the last few weeks..they now have some magical spreadsheet that tells them if someone has started court proceedings. If court proceedings have started then even though you have had an offer letter and may have accepted....they will not pay up!

It has to be dealt with by the bank litigations department and of course there is no way to contact them other than write to them!

I had an offer letter and sent it back, phoned loads over the following 2 weeks to be told to be patient and the money will be paid in then I called last week and they now are not paying.....anyone would think that they do not want to settle before court!
Oh ****, I called Natwest yesterday morning and was told that an offer letter for the full amount will be going out by the end of the month, as I haven't received even an acknowledgement so far I thought that this was probably a delaying tactic so filed at MCOL, looks like I may have to wait quite a while then to get my money!!!
    I will keep you posted.:o

I Took In My First Letter Requesting Bank Charges And Interest Of Just Under £2500 In To My Local Natwest Branch, (who Said They'd Forward To The Correct Place.) Last Wednesday. I've Just Rang The 0800 No, To See If It Had Been Received, I Was On Hold For About 20 Mins Grrrr.. They Said At First It Hadn't, But Then Said Their Systems Only Update Every 2 Weeks So They May Have It And It May Be Being Dealt With But It Wouldnt Be On Their Sytems Till Next Week And To Ring Back Then (and Be Put On Hold For A Further 20 Mins No Doubt) Just Got To Wait Now I Guess.. I'll Let You Know How It Goes..
P.s I Phoned My Online Banking For My Statements And They Were With Me Within The Week.. Might Be Better Than Writing If You Have The Option.. And Only £5 Not £10
Good Luck To You All Trying

  • Sent letter to Natwest on the 5/02/07 requesting bank statements. Recieved them 2 weeks later sent second letter. called them on the 01/03/07 and was told offer was being made for full amount £2555....great. Was told letter was on its way, have since been told duplicate on its way.......now being told no letters being issued until first week in April. I have spoken to 38 people in the last 3 days I'm at my wits end any advise.:confused::confused::confused:

Also how do i get my credit card staements as i asked for them in my first letter to natwest but only got sent my current account statements? I gave them my cc number

I've asked this question a few times but unfortunately nobody seems to be able to answer it.

The address given for Natwest is is for reclaiming bank charges only - Natwest credit cards is an entirely different company/address apparently. I'm in the unfortunate position of not knowing what my credit card account number was (card was closed 2 years ago) so I've had to write to Natwest at this address:

    Natwest
    Correspondence
    PO Box 6050
    Southend-on-Sea
    Essex, SS99 1WL

...asking them to give me my credit card acount number. God knows if they will respond!

I got the details from my credit refference search, it had the number on there.

If you don't have it I think your name and address should be okay to start with.

Thanks for that. For some reason when I paid off my defaulted credit card/bank account with Natwest all the info dropped off my credit report (online with Experien). Its odd because I know it stays on your account for 6 years and I also know that when I'm applying for a mortgage my creditors can see them but for some reason I cant anymore!

Am hoping I'll get some response from the above address. If not I'm contemplating robbing my local branch:rolleyes:

Go on the consumer action group webste, their template letter also covers the default notice being removed, so when you do find out what your charges were, it asks for them back and the default to be removed.

I used this as I need to get a bigger house soon so want to improve my credit rating.
