wording in key here.
I would think if it had a account number on the form you have to fill in, it would only apply to that account, where as if it says just your name, or both account numbers, it may apply to both.
Im no expert though, just my opinion.0 -
From the wording it sounds like all future charges at this bank. I would back saying you accept this as Full and Final settlement of this claim only.
Then, one of three things is likely to happen:
1) They cave in and pay you without the clause
2) They take back the offer and you have to take them to court
3) They take back the offer and you have to take them to court and they close your account0 -
Hi people.
I've entered my claim with MoneyClaim. Natwest acknowledged today (8/12). What does this mean and can someone explain what I do now I'm in this process as I thought I was clear but feel a little confused.
Thanks.0 -
I had exactly the same when I got full settlement of my account back in May.
I signed it but I crossed out their terms.
I waited 2 days and the refund was paid directly paid into my account.
This was a fair while ago now but I dont advise agreeing to their terms as the whole point of claiming the charges back is that they shouldnt take them in the first place and its your money.
Do as you feel is right for you, needless to say, it wasnt long before another charge creeped up on my account and i reclaimed it back and also claimed back the charges on my step account which were relatively small since claiming the original charges on my current plus back first.0 -
Hi, ThisNameIsTaken.
Exactly the same thing happened to me today .. they acknowledged. This means they have 28 days in total from the time the papers were served on them to make their next move.
It would've been 14 if they hadn't acknowledged, but no probs .. it's just another stalling tactic.
They will either do one of a few things now. They'll either form a defence .. offer you some more cash .. pay up in full or do nothing.
If they form a defence, you'll need to fill in a simple questionaire .. if they offer you cash, it's up to you if you take it or not .. if they pay up in full: victory .. if they do nothing after 28 days: you win by default.
Don't worry .. just check your MoneyClaim every couple of days to see what their next move is.
I hope this helps,

Thanks very much - very helpful.
Do you know if the 28 days is working days? Just thinking with Xmas coming up etc it could cause big delays.0 -
I might send them a letter with it. Along the lines of i accept your agreement, take the charges off my credit file, and charge me again i will claim, due to them been unfair.0

Hey everyone, just thought I'd add to this post.
I'm in the process of claiming back some £1700 (plus interest) from NatWest. If I'm honest it started out as just to see if I could, but the more charges I added the more and more angry I got, what I'm particularly annoyed about is I'd never had any problems until when I was 19 they just gave me a £500 overdraft without me asking. As a silly 19 year old I thought "Hmm interested" and a new guitar later and a failed DD and it was a slippery ride from then on in!
I've managed to keep myself on the straight and narrow now (only been charged a couple of times this year as opposed to 20/30 times in 04/05) but NatWest kindly offered me a loan to get me out of my troubles, at a stupidly high rate of course.
So yes, I got very annoyed at them and decided to pursue this so I sent my first letter off (with a statement of charges) off on the 3rd and I'll await a reply, at which point I assume I'll be immediately sending the second letter.
Wish me luck people0 -
Good luck, not that you need it. Be patient and confident0

This seems to be standard practice with them when you get into difficulty.
They offered me the same thing when I got into difficulty in 2004 .. I told them I couldn't afford to pay them if I did that .. all I got was a shrug of their shoulders and no other form of help.
Naturally, as I thought I would .. by 2005, I couldn't pay back the loan .. I slid deeper into debt .. I managed to sell my house ( .. before they tried to take it off me) and paid off £60,000 worth of debt. When I asked them for a new mortgage on the new house .. they refused
Cutting a long story short, you can imagine how much I want my pound of flesh from them.
Nat West: "life-ruiners", I'm off my soapbox now. Sorry for the rant .. as you can read, I'm quite bitter about the whole thing :eek:Nat West = CONQUERED: 10/02/07 .. PAID UP IN FULL .. OVER £2800!! :j0
