I am currently 6500 overdrawn with natwest..would it be worth me trying for this. I feel nervous as I reckon it may just make them look at me in more detail when I am in the process of deciding what to do about a major debt..
You have all done so well and any extra money towards this O/D would be a blessing....
Advice please
Ready to fall apart
Sorry I forget my manners...Hello to all I am a new poster who is in the poo big time!! Depressed stressed and sick with worry....0 -
Yes you would send of the first letter asking for the list of charges for the length of time you have been with Nat West.0

and start with asking for your list of charges for the past six years which may go some way to help paying some of your overdraft if you are successful.
While you wait on the information required it would be a good idea to look at opening a "parachute" account elsewhere. Also check out the Debt Free Wanna board for all debt problems.0 -

£4139!!!
ok so do i have to list every individual charge or can i just ask for this amount?0 -
and do i have to say what each one was for?
ie unpaid direct debit for powergen, 01/01/06 £38
can i claim back a default notice fee?
some of my charges just say 'charges' dont specify exactly what they are for? can i claim back these as well?
Thanks
Well i have listed them all, took me about 3 hours to type it all up and double check it was correctly added up!
My final amount that i'm looking for back is £4371 not including the interest. (dont want to push my luck)
so will hopefully be posted tomorrow! sending recorded delivery to local branch!
so guys wish me luck!!
pps if anyone has any extra info re the unexplained charges and default notices please let me know asap so can adjust the sheets if need be
thanks!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

I sent off mine today, only problem I had was that the bank and the post office are around the corner from me, so posting it felt a little weird. But I guess its they proper way to do it
I went in and asked for statments for as far back as I could (which was around 6months) But luckily thats the time my 1st things started bouncing and I started getting charged.
I changed the letter a bit since it was only for 5months worths of claims and for only £190 (which to me is a lot still, as well as causing problems with other companies)I am writing to request that you repay all the default charges that have been applied to my account. I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to Natwest of going into unauthorised overdraft and bouncing cheques and direct debits.
The charges total £190. I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money and therefore ask that you repay me the full amount. Please find a full schedule of the charges with this document. It should also be noted I am only claiming back as far as 5months as I feel this is when the charges began to snowball and it is as far as I could obtain records for.
I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days.
Yours faithfully,
Now I just have to wait to get my records of Barclay Card, but thats a whole different thread.
£190 claimed back from Natwest.

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE of how I list out the charges before sending off a copy to the bank (ignore the red and green lines). I do this in a word document. The title should be 'Schedule of Charges'. I have a page at the end that totals up all the years. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
