  • They did the same with me. They sent me an offer and on the back of the offer letter, where they wanted me to sign, they stated one account number. I did post the question on here that if i accepted this offer, which was £50 short of this account, would i still be able to go after them for the other account. replies where "you could technically, but you will find that the offer they gave me was for both accounts". In the end i kept the court claim going, that way i will get all of it

Good luck Johncolin78, keep us posted on your good news!!!!!!

Have you defaulted on this overdraft? If so, there will be a default notice on your account. In which case use the standard letter from the CAG website as this also includes for default removal.

What's the CAG site? I dunno what CAG stands for? I think I may need thsi letter too as I'm gonn abe claiming on a closed account that has been passed onto debt collecters for the outstandng O/D.

Its the consumer action group. The people who started all of this. The letters on MSE are a slimmed down version of the letters on the CAG site. The ones on MSE dont include for default removal in the process of claiming charges. The address is https://www.consumeractiongroup.com. You have to sign up and its free. If you dont sign up all of the threads and letters appear empty. You will find that most people are registered with these as well as on here. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have 2 Natwest accounts at different branches. Both are current accounts, one in Southampton and one in Bristol. I want to try and claim fees back from both accounts (approx £700 and £500 respectively, including interest).

I have 6 years worth of statements, so can skip straight to sending the letter to the bank. I think this is supposed to go to the branch, right? Does this mean it's better to split the claim and send one claim to each branch (doubling the risk of courts etc), or would the claim work just as well doing both together and sending to the head office address?

Hope someone has some ideas on this..... thanks!

Send the letters separately to the different branches and keep the claims separate. Don't worry about going to court or the costs as yet.

    Hi guys,

Recently I went down the path of taking my bank to the small claims court.. I didn't hear anything until today, and was looking forward to their 14 days being up as of this Sunday. Unfortunately they have acknowledged the claim, and have declaired that they will defend all of my claim. Is this standard practice? I felt sick. It's gone on for too long, and if in the end they are either going to pay up, or make a partial offer, then why won't they just be a good bank and give me back my freakin money.

Also, if they do submit their defence before the further 14 days are up, where does that leave me?

    Hi there
I had exactly the same a couple of weeks ago (letter came from Cobbetts - their lawyers) saying they would defend all charges. A week later I got a letter from NatWest denying all fault but making me a goodwill offer of £10,675.20 (all my charges minus the interest and Moneyclaim fee) - so stick with it, Roger
  • I have waited far to long and given natwest 3 months to refund my charges ,i sent them another letter 7 days ago and have got a reply today saying they are passing my concerns about charges to a customer realations unit .

Should i just send them a court letter now as this has gone on to long.
  • What address do i send my court letter to ,the main office in London or my local branch
