  • They file an acknowledgment on mco then about a week or so they post you it.

Then before you do anything come back on here to check what to do next.

    Hi,

Can someone confirm how the bank will enter a defence by acknowledging our claim. Will I receive the acknowledgment through the post or will the Natwest acknowledge this on the Moneyclaim website.

    Thanks.

Hi they do the acknowledgment first then the defence after that. For me the acknowledgement was updated on the website first and then a letter sent out in the post.

I received Cobbetts defence in the post on Saturday and it was updated on the website this afternoon

Following Natwest's threat of taking me to court over my account arrears and my cheeky response of,"Go on then,I'd be happy to go to court, lets do it", they have sent me a paltry offer of £1,500. Considering I'm claiming nearly £8,500 concerning 2 accounts, I feel they're trying their luck. So, I'm guessing my next step is to turn the offer down and...what...?

Can anyone recommend a letter template or a way of wording my rebuttle?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

I've been browsing these forums for about a year now and only just noticed this bit of the forum (there was also a documentry on itv yesterday). I read the stickies and i'm kind of confused.

Couple of years back, i had a subscription with a usenet provider who put "automatic renew" on even when you select now at sign up, i didn;t know this at the time as far as i was concerned i had clicked no however when it came to the end of my subscription they made tried to take money out of my paypal account which then tried to take money out of my bank account which then got rejected and i had to pay an overdraft fee. There was also other times where i had just over £1 in my account and a payment was made that was a £1 and the band rejected it and i got another bank charge, from looking at my emails this happened twice.

Now these happened a long time ago, also i'm still under 18 only 17. Do i have a case?
  • I see Barclays made a nice profit 7.5 billion, the guy on bbc 24 news seemed to think its ok to make a one fifth profit from bank charges.

Its seem the banks have had enough of us asking for a refund because the man on sky said over 800,000 of us were d/l templates from a certain website :rotfl: to claim there charges back.

Now the new man who's taking over the nationwide wants to scrap free banking
  • Hi

I used Martin's template letter and posted off this and the £10.00 chque as advised last week. Haven't heard anything and after hearing Radio 2 today was all fired up to get things moving. So I phoned my branch...well actually the call centre and asked to be put through to my branch, I upset the person the other end because I wouldn't tell him why I wanted to speak with my branch. Got through and was told all mail goes to their head office  What a waste of time. So then the woman told me in their 'I know everything and you know nothing tone!' that there would be a fee and she 'thought' it was £5.00 for every three months worth supplied  I told her straight out that no it wasn't and I had already accompanied the letter with funds to cover the cost. At which point she said she would do them for me at the branch.:rotfl: I am now going to phone back again and ask for them to be ready tomorrow and i will go and collect them;) I think they are gonna end up hating me.....don't think it's as much as I dislike them though.
  • Hi,

I have written the two letters to Natwest and the final day they have to get back to me is tomorrow. If they do not send me a cheque my tomorrow which to be honest is highly unlikely I will start the court action.

My question is I am on holiday next week will this effect court action? Will there be anything for me to do in this time? Should I wait until I return or go ahead tomorrow as planned?

    Many thanks for any help,

    Nick

    Hi,

No I would just go ahead. I have made claims on moneyclaim recently and once you have filled the first form in for the amounts owed etc, you have to wait 14 days (or up to 28 if the bank acknowledges your claim) so you can't do anything in this time anyway.

    Good luck :D

I did receive a letter to say they were looking into my claim after I sent the 14 day letter. I then sent the next letter giving them 7 days to respond and didn't hear anything then. I then sent them another 7 day letter requesting interest but I also rang their customer relationship department in Borehamwood and was told that they had put my offer letter in the post. I received that on Saturday 17th February but the letter was dated 8th February. Looks like they have a backlog. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call to make sure they have got your claim.

    Good luck
