Hello,
Just thought id let you know this.....
I phoned up Natwest a few weeks ago asking for my six years worth of statments, in which i was told they would be sent for FREE (yes free), i even got a letter off the famous Mr Higley basically saying your statments are in the post and i have waived the 5.00 free for the statments. which all sounds good until i have just checked my online natwest banking.......................................they did charge me 5.00 for these statments making me overdrawn, thus encuring a 28.00 unarranged borrowing fee!!!!!!
ill take my letter to my branch tomorrow and see what happens.0 -

Dont bother, you are wasting your time. Just include the new charge in your claim when you send the first letter. Branch staff/ customer service are impotent in this matter. There is a special dept. Ask for it when you call Natwest for all your dealings with them.Reclaiming Bank Charges in the UK

hello, ive already sent letter with all charges in, awaiting there response, 14 days is up on friday. you think i should send a seperate letter just concerning this new charge with a photo copy of mr higleys letter?0

Afraid so. Natwest are so notoriously difficult with reclaiming charges. However, the last word I have got from Natwest (after issuing them with a summons eight days ago) is that there will be space to add new charges to the offer. I have another charge after sending my letters. When I get the offer letter (which I was assured was sent last week, still no sign , quelle surprise) I will phone them and get a verbal mandate to send all charges plus interest including new ones. Basically, don't expect any plain sailing from Natwest, but stick at it. You WILL get your money back, just stay on top of them. Make sure you are acutely aware of the deadlines you have set. Read the whole of this thread if you can. Look at this website a lot. Look at the Consumer Action Group Website. Good luck! if you have any more questions, you can PM me.
all the best

I have just sent my letter to Nat West requesting £4289.73 in bank charges. I am concerned though that the recent blast in people reclaiming will mean that banks will find a way of getting round it? I had to trawl through a stack of bank statements going back 6 years, taking me at least a day! One thing I noticed was that there was no consistency in how much they charged me. Charges ranged from £10 to £130!! Discuss.................0

When I sent my letter to Nat West requesting my copy bank statements, I just wrote to my branch and they came within 10 days! Perhaps contact your branch?0

Well i sent a letter to that address with a £5 p/o for my statements but i will ask my local branch if they can find out what happened
Thanks

OK so my local branch say that they cannot find out this for me because they would not know from the amount of letters they receive so do i write to head office and ask if they got the letter or should i just send another £5 p/o but recorded delivery this time?0
