We sent our claim dated the 7th Feb and got a reply last friday saying they were looking into our claim. Is this just a stalling tactic?
Also we are claiming £680 including interest but this for the charges for going over our overdraft, but reading previous threads we can't do this, is this true?
Thank you in advance for your reply.0 -
Hi just been reading the closing bank account thread, now I'm worried that HSBC will close our account. Luckily we are not in the overdraft we have 2 accounts, one hubby's wage goes into and all the DDs come out of that one, and the number 2 account is the one where my wage goes and all shopping and general living expenses come out of. so what are the chances of them closing it?
The 2 weeks is up in 2 days and they sent the general letter about looking into our claim, but not sure if we are able to claim for going over the agreed overdraft limit, could someone please clarify this before I send off the 2nd letter ? Thanks.0 -
hi folks,
I am claiming £751.56 + £168 interest +£80 court charges
I have filed my claim and got a letter from hsbc offering me £650 with no addmitance of guilt.BUT, the letter was dated the 5th of feb and the envelope had the date 14th feb stamped on it. i think they have just back dated the letter to make it look like they r responding to my letters not the court claim. this letter gave me 10 days to respond with acceptance but that was up by the time i got the letter so i am tempted to hold out for the rest which will total £1000 pretty much.
Is this practice common by the bank? is it all just posturing from them?
all help will be more than welcome, everyone around me's tellin me to accept but i want my 80 quid back.HELP ME:eek:0 -

Can anyone answer a few quick questions for me regarding how to lay out my bank charges. I'm going to use excel as recommended, But which headings and in which order should i lay it out. My first ever charge was on the 12th Feb for charges incurred to 21st Jan 2002. So i think im right in beleiving i can reclaim charges from this date to the present day.
Also i think HSBC might have attempted some underhanded tactics against me. They have sent me all my statements for the last six years. But they have left some gaps for example most of them go from 23rd to 22nd with a three month gap in between. But some end on the 11th randomly and have a 12 day gap until the next statement starts? Im thinking i can either get at these gaps by ordering them from HSBC over the phone, or looking on my internet banking. I would prefer to look on Internet banking does it normally go back this far, mine only goes back as far as august 20060 -

The statements for the past 6 years with HSBC are available online for those on Internet Banking.
To access them goto the account in question and on the menu on the left-hand side ,click on my statements, it is here where they are located.0 -

You could just let the bank know their kind offer was received too late. You will be claiming for the full amount plus interest and court costs. Only an full and unconditional offer of this total will stop the court process.0
