Issued claim using MCOL. HSBC have now sent acknowledgement back saying they intend to defend all of claim. Has anyone else got to this stage with the bank. Really worried that I will be one of the few that end up i court. Do I need to do anything at this stage? When do I have to fill in the questionnaire I have read about?
Help please!0 -
What have I done wrong? I sent the template letter to the bank with copies of my statements that had the charges highlighted and the total amount owing. They sent the statements back saying that they couldn't process them in this way. How should I send the info to the bank? Is there another template I've missed? Thanks.

Use the Interest Calculator in Martin's article, link in my signature, input each individual charge and print it out which gives the dates, amount claimed and put in a description. This will also give you an interest amount at the end.0

I too have just received Notice that Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, stating that they intend to defend all of the claim. No questionnaire though - when do I get one of those? Can somebody advise Puddin' and I? Also it's for Northampton County Court - I live in Yorkshire! Is there any way I can get the venue changed should I end up having to go to court?
Sorry to be a pain, but I'm getting a bit panicky
As much as Puddin' seems to be.0 -
I sent off the standard letter asking to list the charges but instead they have sent back a huge pile of statements
Do i have to go through all of them?
Is there an easier way to do this....there are about 5 tree's worth!
also, they only go back to 20040 -
hi m.r. davies

Hi, ive just recieved 6 years of statements the same as you but for two accounts. I thought the same as you, wow, how long is this going to take. My advise is to seperate the statements into months and simply go through them all. There is no simple way. It should be worth the effort in the end. Just about to send off my letter asking for the charges and interest back. Good luck.0 -
Hello - just received a letter back today (20 Feb) from the Senior Service Quality Officer at HSBC in Leeds, in response to my first letter (10 Feb, sent recorded) asking for my money back. I had enclosed a full breakdown with my letter using excel - sheet number, date, amount, etc.
"In order that we can consider your request, please provide a full itemised breakdown of these charges to include date, description of the charge and the amount applied. Please also include any proposed new charges that you have received a pre-notification advice for"
I have reshuffled my schedule using the format they want:-
Date Amount Description
Total
but would like to know if you think I should send this back with the pre-court letter? Is this just a delay tactic?
Thanks. Nervewracking - plus I've got to search for my court now!

no easy way to do it dude - they arent going to spoon feed you the answers - they dont want u to get your money back!! Sit down with a highlighter pen and go through it. seperate the pages with charges on from the ones that havens, and then put them into a spreadsheet.
I have just claimed from HSBC - it is easily done!!

There is an easier way to do this but only if you use HSBC online banking and are prepared to print each statement to a TXT file. View each statement (they should go back 6 years on HSBC online banking) and then print to a generic text printer. Save each statement and then you can do a word filter query for "unauthorised" "charge" etc on all the statement text files in the directory, that way you don't miss anything.
If you do decide to go through the statements don't do it all at once. Do a year at a time, record the total then have a break. If you do all 6 years at once, and you have a huge stack of statements you might well miss an entry.553780080
