hello bit new to all this and needed some help or sound advice please?!im just in the motion of claiming back my bank charges and have sent my first letter stating the charges made and the amount id like back which totalled to £1200.The bank replied to my letter within the 14 days asking for a breakdown of the charges etc.I have since replied with the information they have asked for.I gave them 7 days and decided to give them a call which i did only to be told they had recieved the letter and that these things can take up to 8 weeks to sort out to which i complained.I was told that they should make me an offer in a couple of weeks(no precise date).
I wondered if anyone could help me with what to do now as its been around 2 weeks since then, should i wait or use the moneyclaim process thats on here as id like these charges paid back to me asap!!any help much appreciated0 -
Stick to your deadlines. When they want money from you, you have to work to their deadlines so why cant it work the other way around???Bank charges reclaimed: HSBC £1990

Right, now we can help! I'll move your thread into the HSBC thread and you'll find this is standard procedure for HSBC. Before you go to MoneyClaim you have to send them a letter saying you will take them to court if they don't reply to you in 7 days. Follow the steps and you will be okay.0

You can do if you have given them warning but they asked you for information and you have now only given them 7 days to check your charge claim agrees with what they have on file.
If you proceed with MoneyClaim too quick this won't necessarily speed up the process.0 -
i rang them and they recieved my reply letter with the information on the 26th of jan.0
