The reply I got this morning says that I have to have a list of all the charges, date and description as it is not 'obliged' to 'assist in the analysis of my account'!!!! I've not asked for assistance, just dosh!!!
Has anyone else had this letter, I'm guessing it's just time wasting but will reply with the list in exactly the format they require, even though they've already had it, bar the description!!

Hi guys
just wondering about peoples experiences of takin hsbc to court.
I filed a claim against them and they said they were going to put in a defence. They've got a week left to do so but nothing yet. A tactic to put me off or will they actually put in a defence?I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.0 -

Thanks for that, I've just done a spreadsheet too. My statements only say 'charge' or 'total charge' so that's all the detail they can have I'm afraid. Did you put more detail on yours? And yes, don't worry I kept a copy of all my statements but they'd sent them back with the letter anyway!
Do you think I should stick with the original 14day deadline or start again from the day they receive the new detailed spreadsheet???So far:-
HSBC £2515 incl int claimes, settled on £1998:j
Abbey - £2995 claimed, offered £1098, accepted as part payment and proceed to next stage, response not satisfactory so currently with Ombudsman
Cap 1 - settled on charge difference:j
Barclaycard - settled on charge difference:j
MBNA - 1 account settled in full, £993:beer:
- 2nd account settled on difference:T
HSBC Visa - no charges amazingly!!:rotfl:
Household Bank Visa - settled on charge difference:T
ACE catalogue - settled in full after 1 letter!!!:beer:0 -
I sent off my first letter to HSBC on 5/2/07 but today got a letter saying that they need more details of the charges, I sent them everything but the charge decription from the statement which they now say they need. I have now collated these onto a new spreadsheet which I will post off next week but should I stick with my original deadline or start a new 14 day period from the date they receive the new details? Help p
lease....

You do need to give them time to check your charges spreadsheet with your charges so while I wouldn't give them 14 days to do this, maybe 7 days.0

Hi, I filed a claim in December for my charges with HSBC and they filed a defence, I think its just a scare tactic and also buys them more time. I recieved an offer from DG Sols this week which I have accepted :j not going to tempt fate by giving you all the details but will do when I have the cheque in my sweaty palms!! Good luck and stick to your guns they'll back down first.Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it0 -
Hello
I've rec'd statements and a list of charges from both HSBC and Smile. Then sent second letter asking for the money to be paid back using the template letter, without interest. HSBC wrote back a day before the 14 day time limit I provided stating that they were looking into the matter. I haven't yet heard from smile. What should I do? HSBC said its taking them 6-8 weeks to carry out investigations. Should I wait for them to do this or stick to the original time scale I provided. Also, how do I know which court to put my claim to?
Any advice would be gratefully rec'd.0 -
Stick to your timeframe. You can find your nearest court in this post.
